Alnwick Town v Wallington 14th October 2023

Alnwick Town entertain Wallington in what is their biggest game of the season. A victory would seal their place as title favourites and further stretch their points advantage over Wallington.

Re: Alnwick Town v Wallington 14th October 2023

Alnwick Town 0 Wallington 1
Alnwick’s big game ended in disappointment for the large crowd that watched this sun bathed top of the table clash. A late winner for Wallington was in the end fully deserved despite Alnwick having most of the possession. Matty Alexander made a number of crucial saves in the Alnwick goal to keep them in the game but they had few chances themselves to get on the scoresheet. Wallington looked dangerous when they attacked on the break and they grew in confidence as the game progressed and Alnwick appeared to ruń out of ideas. Alnwick will hopefully have a fully fit squad for their next game which is in the League Cup as several players appeared to be carrying knocks on Saturday!
