Breaking News - Season Extension

Our League has made the following announcement :

The board have decided to extend the season given the exceptional inclement weather we have experienced in the Midlands. The Board have requested and been granted permission by the Football Association to extend the season with the last date being Monday 7th May for the Premier Division and Division One.  (other Divisions  12th May)

We have asked the Fixture Secretary to ensure that there are full fixture lists on Saturday 5th May and Monday 7th May.

Obviously cricket etc may hinder this process but it will reduce midweek games for a lot of clubs and will ensure that games can now be moved to week commencing 30th April, Sat 5th May and Mon 7th May.
We are aware there may be issues for some Clubs and in order for the Fixture Secretary to begin his task therefore, affected clubs are asked to contact him immediately with perceived issues.

The main focus of the decision made by the Board is to maintain the integrity of the Total Motion Midland Football League

Re: Breaking News - Season Extension

The statement that there will be a full fixture list on both Sat 5th May and Mon 7th May inevitably means that some of the currently scheduled games will now be re-arranged  so that we have matches on those two dates.

What a task for the poor old Fixture Secretary!

Watch this space for dates of re-arranged matches

Re: Breaking News - Season Extension

I'm guessing Coventry Copsewood will be off tonight and will be played either Sat 5th May or Bank Holiday Monday 7th May.  It would be good to play Walsall Wood for our final match.

Thursday's match away to Heath Hayes is now rearranged and will be Ilkeston's final match on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May.

Re: Breaking News - Season Extension

If the Heath Hayes game is our only fixture change then we will conclude our season with four away games. The remaining unconfirmed six fixtures are now :

Tues 10th April     Cadbury Athletic             away
Sat    14th April    Littleton                           home
Tues 17th April     Racing Club Warwick     away
Tues 24th April     Walsall Wood                  away
Sat   28th April     Chelmsley Town              away
Mon   7th May      Heath Hayes                   away

Until confirmed by the League the above are subject to change  (The League did say that they would like a full fixture list on Saturday 5th April but that may prove to be not possible.)

Re: Breaking News - Season Extension

Does anybody know what time we will be kicking off in the rearranged game away to Heath Hayes? I am presuming its 3pm.

Its a bit strange that the TotalMotion League have not updated all the fixtures on their website yet!

More confusion . The match against Heath Hayes will now be played on Thursday 19th April.  Chelmsley will be our last match on Saturday 28th April

Re: Breaking News - Season Extension

There could be more postponements tonight which will add to the Fixture Secretary's problems. There also appears to have been some miscommunication regarding the seasons finishing date. Is it Saturday May 5th or Bank Holiday Monday May 7th? The last I heard is that Ilkeston's final game will be Sat 28th April at Chelmsley but that could change if tonight's match at Cadbury is off. (Cadbury still have ten games left.)
In my opinion the only way to have had a full fixture list on the last day would have been to move all of the original last day fixtures on 28th April back to the new final day of fixtures.

If Ilkeston were to win all of their remaining fixtures we could finish on 100 points and not get promoted. !!!!!!
