It's going to be a tough game tonight. The Coventry officials are very confident they can win.
Tonight Ilkeston are wearing all red and Coventry United are wearing Sky blue shirts and white shorts.
The teams are out . Coventry have some very big players out there. We're off..........

First attempt on goal by Reeves but Casswell saves . At the other end Mitchell has to tip over Mc Donalds shot. Prinzel shoots from distance and it's easily saved by Mitchell. Thornton shoots and it deflects for a corner . Lively opening 8 minutes 0-0

Good break by Reeves earns a corner. GOAL Jamie Walker confusion in the Coventry defence 1-0. 12 minutes. Came from a corner that the Coventry defence couldn't deal with.

Another Ilkeston corner. Confusion again but Coventry scramble the ball out to Dixon who fired over. Coventry looking vulnerable from corners. Terrific shot by McDonald crashes against Ilkeston's bar and comes back into play. McDonald looks star quality already. 1-0 20 minutes

Ilkeston header just wide. Not sure who it was. GOAL ILKESTON on 26 minutes Tim Hopkinson broke free, took his time and put it out of Casswell's reach for an excellent goal 2-0.

Dixon has to come off after injury but he's back on. Hopkinson close to scoring another but this time Casswell makes a good save. 2-0 30 minutes

It's all Ilkeston at the minute. Coventry's attacks have dried up. Top display from Ilkeston so far. Rare attack from Coventry is stopped by Bennett. 3-0 40 minutes

Swift Coventry attack almost brings a goal. Excellent save by Mitchell with his feet. Nice move. Now McDonald shot is deflected for a corner. Header from the corner is only just wide. Dixon tries a thirty yarder but it's just too high. There's the whistle for half time. ILKESTON 3 COVENTRY UNITED 0

Really good Ilkeston performance so far. After looking dangerous at the start Coventry have been totally outplayed. The 3-0 score is a fair reflection. Let's keep it going in the second half and send a message to the other teams in the league.

Flying start by Coventry. Mitchell has to make a brave save in the first minute. Walker's run brings a corner. Marshall takes but it's cleared. Free Kick to Ilkeston. It almost goes straight in . Desperate last ditch save by the keeper

Reeves shoots first time but not enough power. Up the other end Mitchell makes a fantastic double save. 3-0 55 minutes

Fairclough on for Bennett. Reeves nearly gets the better of Clarke but Clarke recovers to save his embarrassment. Mitchell saves again. Coventry are doing better going forward this half. 3-0 63 minutes

The crowd are trying to lift Ilkeston as the game as slowed up somewhat. Ever willing to chase Reeves breaks free down the left but the angle is too tight and his shot goes across the face of the goal. Still 3-0 73 minutes

Good play by Fairclough as he finds Hopkinson but the attack is snuffed out. Coventry are much better this half as they push forward looking for way back into the game. Decent chance for White but his shot goes over the bar. Both sides are taking risks with 5 minutes left. still 3-0.

Alex Marshall creates a chance for himself but he puts it inches wide. Great effort by Lavell Whie hits the post after beating his man. deserved a goal.
