This Saturday's matches (8th Dec)

There are three big matches this weekend involving six of the top seven

Sporting Khalsa (6th)  v  Worcester City (7th)
Walsall Wood (3rd)   v  Shepshed Dynamo (5th)
Westfields (2nd)  v  Ilkeston Town  (1st)

It's so tight at the top of the Premier Division and the outcome of these games is massively important for each team.

Re: This Saturday's matches (8th Dec)

Ilkeston have a 4 point lead over 2nd placed Westfields so even if Westfields win, Ilkeston will stay top. But a Westfields win is what all of the leading teams will be hoping for. Sporting Khalsa are still Ilkeston's biggest threat.

If Ilkeston lose and Khalsa win, Khalsa will be six points behind Ilkeston but with two games in hand.
An Ilkeston defeat and a Shepshed win would put Shepshed 6 points behind Ilkeston with a game in hand.
An Ilkeston defeat and a Walsall Wood win would put Wood 4 points behind Ilkeston having played the same number of games.

Probably the best outcome for Ilkeston from the 3 matches would be an Ilkeston win at Westfields, Worcester to beat Sporting Khalsa and Walsall Wood and Shepshed to draw.

Westfields away looks like a really tough game for Ilkeston.  A 4-0 win at Khalsa and a 6-1 win at Worcester shows what Westfield are capable of on their day. They have only been beaten once at home in the league (P10 W5 D4 L1).  Jamie Molyneux is their leading scorer with 13 goals.
The journey of over two hours won't help.

Two out of three is most definitely acceptable.   What a great win for Ilkeston.  Gutted that I missed the match but the updates on Ilkeston's twitter and Westfields twitter made my pain bearable.

Kevin Cross -  Go easy on the lad who did the Westfields twitter.  He's a supporter.  Supporters see things the way they want to.  Nothing wrong with a bit of bias on your Club's own information feed. I thought he did a good job for the Westfield fans.

Sorry to hear about Craig's mistreatment by the Westfield player. The officials should definitely have cautioned the player assuming one of them saw it.  Obviously it happened in the heat of the moment when passions were high but if it's on film then it needs to be taken further. Did we get an official apology from the player or a Westfields official afterwards?
