Re: Rest of December fixtures for the top six

By the end of December I estimate that it will be even tighter at the top. Ilkeston, Walsall Wood, Sphinx and Shepshed have 5 matches, Westfields have four matches and Khalsa have six matches

I have tried to predict the results of the December matches involving the top six and I estimate the following results for each club :

Ilkeston Town  :   2 wins and 3 draws  =   9 points
Westfields       :   3 wins and 1 draw    =  10 points
Walsall Wood  :   4 wins and 1 draw    =  13 points
Cov. Sphinx     :   2 wins and 3 draws  =    9 points
Shepshed D    :   3 wins and 2 draws   =  11 points
Sport. Khalsa  :   4 wins and 2 draws   =  14 points

If the above results happened then the top of the table at the end of December would look like this :

                                       P    W    D    L    Points
Ilkeston Town                24   16    4     4      52
Walsall Wood                24   15    4     5      49
Westfields                     25    14    7    4      49
Sporting Khalsa            23    14    6    3      48
Shepshed Dynamo       23    14    3    6      45
Coventry Sphinx           24    12    7    5      43

Re: Rest of December fixtures for the top six

I predicted draws in the three big matches ie
Sporting Khalsa v Worcester       result :   2-2
Walsall Wood v Shepshed           result  :  4-4
Westfields v Ilkeston                    result  :  Ilkeston win 2-1

So really good results for us today.  Magnificent Ilkeston win and points dropped by the rest of the top teams including  Coventry Sphinx who lost 2-0 at Lye Town which I predicted as a Sphinx win.

Ilkeston's win was a morale booster following last weeks disappointing FA Vase exit and it must have been a sickening result for Ilkeston's promotion challengers. Well done to Craig Swinscoe and Martin Lench for a great result from a difficult first game in charge

There's still a long way to go but we are on course.
