Heanor Town v Ilkeston Town Summary

A disappointing 2-0 defeat against a team that had been beaten by Holbrook Sports a team at the same level as Ilkeston only ten days ago. We started very strongly and looked like we would have a real chance of beating our local rivals. However Heanor gradually got back into the game and after the break they opened the scoring through the impressive Reeves. The Robins continued with their impressive approach but we're failing to test Cammidge in the Heanor goal. The inevitable happened when Vickers added a second for the home side. Ilkeston kept pushing forward but could not find the killer instinct necessary to cause the Heanor any serious problems.
To sum it up we had an impressive first half but no goals. We let Heanor back into the game with a goal where the cross should have been closed down and for the second we got in possession in the build up and they capatalised.
We will need to show more hunger in front of goal against high flying Hinckley AFC on Saturday but on the bright side our approach is impressive at times.
