    Underwood Villa v Ilkeston Town - Match Updates - Sat 14 Jul

    Matchman is back for Ilkeston's second pre-season friendly against Underwood Villa at Bracken Park, Underwood this afternoon kickoff 3pm. Ilkeston are hoping for a good show of away support as a thank you to Underwood Villa who gave us a pre-season friendly last season at very short notice. Ilkeston beat Rossington Main 2-0 in their first warm up game last Saturday when several trialists took part hoping to win a place in Ilkeston's squad.  If you can't tear yourself from your television you can follow Ilkeston's game here and on the Club's twitter account. Ilkeston's media team will be fine tuning their preparations for providing another season of dedicated Ilkeston Town FC coverage.

    Ilkeston have 24 players on site this afternoon

    The proposed first half team is :
    1 Liam  Mitchell, 2 Ben Fairclough, 3 Bill Bennett, 4 Martin Lench, 5 Shaun Rickford, 6 Chris Shaw, 7 James Reeve,   8 Kyle Dixon, 9 Alex Marshall, 10 Elliott Reeves, 11 Connor Green.

    Proposed second half team  :
    1 Jamie Hannis, 2 Tom Marshall, 3 Ryan Wheatley 4 Jordan Wheatley, 5 Charlie Jemson, 6 Elliott Hodgett-Young , 7 Lavell White, 8 Ben Morris , 9 Malachi Levelle-Moore  10 Tim Hopkinson, 11 Jamie Walker.

    Substitutes : Scot Bailey and Kieran Rowland,

    Reeves finds the net after good work by Green but its offside.       0-0 after 10 minutes.

    No 5 Shaun Rickford looks strong.  Ilkeston are well on top with Green doing well down the left flank. Nearly all the play has been in Underwood's half.

    Green wins a corner. Keeper collects well. Reeves nearly put Green through. alex Marshall takes a whack and he's not happy.    GOAL    Alex Marshall.  Ilkeston lead 1-0 on 20 minutes

    Nice cross by Bennett but keeper plucks it out of the air. Great chance for Alex Marshall. He controls the ball with skill but then puts it wide. Good play by Dixon feeding Reeve but keeper saves at the expense of a corner.  Pitch is very dry and bumpy.  Lench is down needing treatment allowing the other players to have a drinks break..    1-0     30 minutes

    First touch for Mitchell as he collects a header back to him.  Second touch as he collects a cross. 
    Underwood get their first corner but its cleared. Green crosses but no one can connect.      1-0   40 minutes

    Underwood more in the game now. Free kick just outside area but it sails over the bar. Great interception by Fairclough but he's held as he breaks free with the ball. Underwood shot goes narrowly wide. 
    It's half time and Ilkeston lead 1-0.

    Strong penalty appeal for Ilkeston is waved away. Hopkinson creates space for himself but his shot is too high. Rasper from Tom Marshall is only just too high. Good play by Reece Dolan for Underwood. Malachi sets Jordan wheatley away and Hopkinson can't quite turn in his cross.  Hour gone still 1-0.

    Malachi puts Morris away but Morris doesn't connect properly.  Ilkeston on top and creating chances but it's still 1-0. Great work by White but Underwood clear.          65 minutes

    Underwood free kick near corner flag. Hannis tips over the cross. Terrific Ilkeston break almost brings a second goal. Jamie Walker and Jordan Wheatley replaced by  Bailey and Rowland. 74 minutes

    Excellent run by Rowland but he can't keep it in.   Penalty for Ilkeston. Malachi to take  .  GOAL   86 minutes
    Malachi sends the keeper the wrong way.     3-0
