Preview of MFL Premier matches - Saturday 29th September

This is the Midland Football League's Preview of matches to be played Saturday 29 September

"The game of the day is undoubtedly at the New Manor Ground as top meets 2nd. Ilkeston Town have made a fantastic start to the season following promotion and they face a rejuvenated Westfields in what looks to be a cracker on a pristine playing surface. 3rd placed Worcester City travel to Oak Park to face improving Walsall Wood who are up to 6th in the table. It is the second meanest defence against joint leading scorers - which one will come out on top? The division's meanest defence is currently Coventry Sphinx and they welcome free scoring Quorn to Sphinx Drive. Sporting Khalsa have won their last five league games to move into a challenging position and they travel to mid table Boldmere St Michaels. There's a huge game at the foot of the table where second bottom Wolverhampton Sporting Community host bottom place South Normanton Athletic. The Shiners are without a point in 9 games wile Sporting have conceded 9 more goals than any other team in the division. Dunkirk make up the relegation zone and they travel to AFC Wulfrunians who are 5 points ahead of them in 11th place. Highgate United were expected to be challenging for the title but their recent form has seen them slip to 9th. They welcome 7th placed Coventry United to the Coppice with both sides eager to hang on to the leading pack. Romulus valiantly went out of the FA Cup last weekend and they return to league action with a home game against Long Eaton United. Lye Town in 8th welcome Shepshed Dynamo to Stourbridge Road with the visitors keen to build on  last week's win over Wolverhampton Sporting Community. Two sides who had excellent wins last week meet at Walshes Meadow with Loughborough University the visitors to Stourport Swifts."
