This Saturday's matches (27 Oct)

There are some interesting fixtures tomorrow.

Ilkeston have a tricky looking match against Quorn. Quorn are 8th but have recently had some good results including an away win at second placed Westfields last time out. They also have the Premier Division's leading  scorer Steve Hart. If Ilkeston were to lose they could be back to 3rd. For that to happen Westfields need to beat Coventry United (by no means a certainty) and Worcester need to beat Sporting Khalsa which should be a cracker and could go either way. A draw in that match would probably be the best outcome for Ilkeston. 5th placed Walsall Wood are away to struggling Long Eaton United and they could move up to 4th above Sporting Khalsa.
At the wrong end of the table Wolverhampton Sporting (Ilkeston's next opponents in the FA Vase) meet Loughborough University.
A win for Ilkeston over Quorn keeps us in pole position. Still a long way to go though and we are without Matt Baker for the next three matches.

Re: This Saturday's matches (27 Oct)

Ilkeston got the win but it wasn't one of their better performances. We knew that Quorn were a decent side and they proved that to be the case. It took a late Elliott Reeves goal and a top save by Liam Mitchell in added time to deny Quorn a draw which they no doubt felt they deserved.  Worcester's winning run was ended by Sporting Khalsa who are now looking like our biggest rivals in the promotion race. This is a really competitive league with plenty of good sides who are capable beating each other and the leading teams.

Sporting Khalsa play at Lye Town this Tuesday evening. If they win they will have closed the gap on Ilkeston to five points with two games in hand.
