Re: Ilkeston v Walsall Wood - Live Updates

It's 12 minutes to kickoff and the ground is filling up specially on the Clubhouse side. Supporters are pouring in.  The carpark was full by 2 15 pm. It's going to be a big turnout.
Ilkeston will be in all red, Walsall Wood in all yellow.

This is the biggest non-league football game in the country today.

Good Ilkeston move ends with free kick.  First effort on goal is by Tom Marshall but it's wide.  Reeves brought down just outside area.  Bennett to take.  Good effort but just wide.       0-0    9 minutes

Re: Ilkeston v Walsall Wood - Live Updates

Ransome has to race out and clear. Terrific run by Atherton creates a chance but it's wide. Wood are looking comfortable at the back and dangerous going forward.      GOAL   its 0-2   goal similar to the first one        24 minutes

Re: Ilkeston v Walsall Wood - Live Updates

Ilkeston passes are going astray. Wood are comfortable.  Corner for Wood.  Push by Rowley when the ball comes over.   It's half time and it's not going to plan.  Walsall Wood good value for their lead.

The teams are back out.  We need a miracle or at the very least an early goal. Fabian Smith and Alex Marshall replaced by Kyle Dixon and Kyle Perry.  We're off again.....

Wood are now brimming with confidence.  Everything Ilkeston try is ending in Ransome's gloves.  Good turn in the box by Reeves but he fires over.      0-4       75 minutes

Re: Ilkeston v Walsall Wood - Live Updates

White then Reeves have shots blocked. Dixon volleys wide but offside anyway.  Wood free kick is well wide. Nothing going right when Ilkeston go forward. A couple of goals back would help the goal difference
.
Still  0-4  with 8 minutes left

Congratulations to Walsall Wood on a great performance and well deserved victory.

There's still two games for both sides to play. All is not lost.

Re: Ilkeston v Walsall Wood - Live Updates

Inquest to follow.  Several supporters were not happy and let their feelings be known. It was obviously a disappointing day when things didn't go to plan but Walsall Wood still have to play Sporting Khalsa and therefore promotion is still possible.

Woods will certainly beat Khalsa because Khalsa wheels have fell off now .

I'm trying to stay optimistic Kev but right now I can't help but think that we've blown it.  I'm hoping things may look different after the Easter Monday matches.  I'm clinging to the hope that Khalsa can get a draw at Walsall Wood.  But if Walsall Wood win as expected we need to win at Dunkirk by a big margin so that goal difference is back in our favour
