Free admission this afternoon as Ilkeston take on Steve Chettle's Basford at the NMG.

Five minutes played and it's 0-0. Mitch Tait and Ricco Spencer are in the Ilkeston team . Brilliant save by Basford keeper denies Ilkeston No 11 a goal following a cracking move. Goal by CJ 1-0 after 9 minutes

CJ breaks free again but this time its only a corner. long shot by Ricco is saved then No.7 is inches wide. Ilkeston are on top. 1-0 13 minutes

Swift Basford counter attack but final shot is off target. CJ is piling the shots in. Good run forward by Ollie. Another good Basford attack and Ilkeston No 6 does well to head out for a corner. Basford are more in the game now 1-0 24 minutes

lkeston No 5 booked for a late tackle. Basford shot is too high. Break by Ollie wins Ilkeston a corner. Terrific Ricco volley. We were waiting for the net to bulge but it went wide. Should have scored. 1-1 37 minutes

Ilkeston started confidently and dominated the early stages but Basford gradually worked their way back into the game. Ilkeston have had more opportunities but it's 1-1 and all to play for.

Basford No 10 is their main man. Early pressure by Basford and a header goes over bar. Ricco feeds Kieran but he passes instead of having a go and the chance is lost. 12 minutes into the second half.

Mitch Tait tries one but it drifts wide. Basford No 2 booked for kicking out. Both sides making good moves without an end product.

Ricco shot from tight angle is saved. Great curler by Ilkeston No 6 doesn't quite curl in but a really good effort.

After two postponements this was Ilkeston u19s first league game. Ilkeston started the stronger and Calrick Dunkley gave them a deserved lead on 9 minutes. Ilkeston stayed in charge until about half way through the half and had several chances to increase their lead. They were made to pay for those missed opportunities when Basford equalised from a free kick just outside the area. At this point Basford upped their game and the match became an even contest with both sides producing some excellent moves. So the teams went in level at half time with Ilkeston feeling they should have been ahead.
Basford started the second half brightly and looked to be taking control early on but Ilkeston fought their way back into contention. With the game finely balanced Ilkeston regained the lead with a penalty. Mitchell Tait stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way. Both teams pushed to get the next goal but it didn't come and Ilkeston were happy to win a tight match against their local rivals.
