Kidsgrove are currently 4th in the league table, six places above Ilkeston with 16 points from 7 matches having won 5 drawn 1 and lost 1.

These are their results  so far :

They only conceded one goal in their first five league matches but then conceded five at Sutton Coldfield.

FROM KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC WEBSITE :

OPPOSITION REPORT: ILKESTON   BY RICHARD SCOTT

Get to grips with tomorrow's hosts Ilkeston:

Home Ground: The New Manor Ground
Manager: Martin Carruthers
League position: 10th
Last time out: Ilkeston 2 v Leek Town 3     (03.11.20)
In Ilkeston's last game before lockdown two, they were involved in a five goal thriller with fellow promotion contenders Leek Town. Alex Troke gave the hosts the lead after just 10 minutes before Leek equalised on 54 minutes with Dan Trickett-Smith scoring from the halfway line. The Blues then raced into a 3-1 lead with goals from Marc Grocott and another from Trickett-Smith. Ilkeston pulled one back through Joe Wilson on 90 minutes. But, Martin Carruthers side couldn't find an equaliser.
Form guide: LWLWW
Last time out against Ilkeston: Kidsgrove Athletic 4 v Ilkeston 1     (30.11.19)
Kidsgrove Athletic put in an impressive display against one of last season's promotion contenders as they beat the Robins 4-1 at the Autonet Insurance Stadium. Ruben Wiggins-Thomas had put the Grove ahead on 15 minutes before Jamie Walker equalised from the spot just after the half hour mark. In the second half, Kidsgrove blew their visitors away thanks to a second goal from Wiggins-Thomas before strikes from Rhys Thompson and Lee Williamson secured the impressive win in front of 225 fans.
One to watch: Alex Troke
Alex Troke is the division's joint top scorer alongside Frickley's Jonathon Margetts, having netted eight goals. The forward also has four goals in FA Competitions giving him a total of 12 goals this season. Troke was a summer signing from Southern League side Bedworth United. He can also count Notts County youth team, Eastwood Town, Grantham Town and Carlton Town amongst his former clubs.

POSTPONED

ILKESTON TOWN V KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC

We can confirm that unfortunately tomorrow’s Pitching In Northern Premier League fixture at home to Kidsgrove Athletic has been postponed due to the NMG pitch being waterlogged.
As it stands our next game will be on Boxing Day away to Carlton Town.
Our next game at the New Manor Ground will be on New Year’s Day when we host Belper Town.

                                                                   ****************************************

I've been down to the NMG and it really is unplayable. With more rain forecast overnight  there's no chance of the pitch drying out.
