Matlock v Ilkeston - Match Updates
Welcome to Causeway Lane for this afternoon's NPL fixture.
Ilkeston's team is :
1 Durrant, 2 Kenworthy, 3 Coleman, 4Gordon, 5 Baker, 6 Foster, 7 Rose, 8 Shelton, 9 Dwyer, 10 Atkinson, 11 Goddard. Subs, 12 Walters, !4 Head, 15, Owen, 16 Morris.
As expected Anton Brown has not recovered from his injury but he did say that it has improved and he hopes to be fit for Saturday..

The pitch looks in excellent condition. It's very warm and sunny so hopefully it will be a good attendance. Both Michael Williams and Joe Doyle are in the Matlock starting eleven. It's 10 minute to Kick off.

Ilkeston are first to attack but Matlock win a free kick near the corner flag. Cross comes over and Ilkeston struggle to clear the danger. It's now Matlock pressing. 5 minutes gone

Good speedy break by Atkinson but he can't get enough power into his shot. Then Atkinson causes the home defence problems again with his speed. Neither side are on top at the moment. Shelton booked on 15 minutes for a push.

Free kick for Ilkeston in good position but Matlock clear. Durrant manages to grab ball following goalmouth scramble. 25 minutes gone, no score.

Rose fouled on edge of area. Some thought it was inside. Free kick well saved at foot of post by Matlock keeper. Good defending by Foster. Matlock have forced several corners now. Durrant punches clear. 30 minutes gone.

Saving clearance by Baker Rose fires wide from distance. Matlock slightly on top at the moment. 36 minutes gone and ref allows players take drinks.

We're off again. Good move by Ilkeston on 40 minutes but no end product. Matlock force another corner but header goes wide. It's half time 0-0.

Gordon ticked off for foul on Doyle. Cross from Atkinson lands on crossbar after good play by Dwyer. Dwyer then creates chance for himself but keeper saves. Ilkeston now on top.

Rose cuts in from right and his shot goes just wide. This is Ilkeston's best spell. 55 minutes Still 0-0.

Good save by Durrant following Matlock break. Excellent defending again by Foster breaks up Matlock attack. Matlock are piling up the corners but all dealt with so far. Atkinson goes down injured enabling another drinks break on 65 minutes.

Now Shelton is down with head injury. He carries on as does Atkinson. Dwyer having superb game up front.

Substitution Atkinson replaced by Morris. Both sides looking for a winner. Ilkeston free kick 30 yards out. Matlock keeper fumbles but recovers. Great chance for Matlock but shot goes wide. Should have scored. I think it was Joe Doyle who fluffed his chance.

It's finished and Ilkeston pick up their first well earned point. Final score 0-0. Quite a decent game despite no goals. Luke Foster was immense in defence and gets my vote for star man
