A RETURN TO ACTION AGAINST MICKLEOVER  BY HARRY WORGAN  14 HOURS AGO

We are delighted to announce we have agreed to take on Mickleover in a friendly on Saturday 22 May. The game has received ratification from both the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire FA, with our kit manufacture Liberal Sport agreeing to sponsor the game. The friendly, which will take place at Greenwich Avenue, will see the sides that occupied the top two places in the Northern Premier League when the season was cut short, which we is why both sides feel this is the perfect game to welcome fans back to football. 

Manager Steve Chettle said: “It’s great news that we have an opportunity to take part in a competitive game against Mickleover on 22 May at Greenwich Avenue.  “It’s been an awfully long time since we have had fans at the ground to see a game and share the match day experience. It will be a huge relief for us all to have the whole experience of match day. “The players have for two seasons been in a strong position and we have had our seasons curtailed. It will be great for everyone to have a game before another break and return for pre-season where we have already got a great scheduled planned to prepare for another season in the Northern Premier League.” 

With the game being sponsored by Liberal Sports, a trophy will be presented to the winners and a donation made to a charity of choice between the two clubs. It is hoped an annual Non-Elite regional game or small knock out competition can be formulated going forward after the 2021/22 campaign. This will be dependent on the agreement of the relevant authorities, and the best placed Non-Elite Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire clubs. Further details and pricing to follow in due course.

Attendance of fans at this game will depend on Government guidelines, which will be released in the next few weeks.
