Tomorrow we return to Quorn for an FA Cup Preliminary round match. We went there for a pre-season friendly and drew 2-2. Quorn beat Selston 5-1 in the previous round.
We'll be expecting to win but you never know. James Reid is available after his suspension.and I expect Martin Carruthers to change the starting line-up he named for the midweek defeat.

The draw for the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round will be published by the FA at 1pm on Monday 23rd August.

i didnt go to the Khalsa match but i hear it wasnt good after a great start at Stamford. Today i am expecting a massive TEAM effort like it was at the first game , ONE because Quorn are a good team and TWO they lads have got to it for themselves ......
i can get to this game so looking forward to it .

Todays game at Quorn is Ilkeston's 282nd game in the FA Cup! This does include two earlier version of Ilkeston Town, two versions of Ilkeston FC and one of Ilkeston United.
The first FA Cup game was in 1893 against Belper Town and finished in a 5-2 victory for Ilkeston Town. The Ilkeston Town line up was Dean, Wheldon, Baker W, Wheatley, Sisson, Dakin, Straw, Baker A, Cook, Allen and Hufton. Both teams were members of the Derbyshire League and Belper took the lead through Loombes. Ilkeston however fought back as the game became ”rather unpleasant” and were much the stronger of the teams taking control of the game with goals from Wheatley, Baker A, Straw, Allen and Cook.

Ilkeston Town and Quorn have never met in the FA Cup before. They have never met in the FA Trophy or FA Vase though they did meet each in a pre season friendly a few weeks ago which ended in a 2-2 draw.
