Bank Holiday Monday brings a quick return to football action and it’s a real cracker against promotion rivals Belper Town. It’s bound to be an epic so get down to Belper and support the club. A win for either side would be a massive boost to their promotion chances. Both teams will be determined to win and there’s likely to be plenty of goals. I’m really looking forward to this fixture as it’s always keenly contested but this season it will be more so because both Ilkeston and Belper are self professed promotion candidates.
Ilkeston have won all three of their away games so far and Belper have won both of their home games. Both sides think they can win.
Ilkeston are sure to have plenty of travelling support and Belper are expecting a bumper gate.

I think we would have to look at the game as two points dropped despite coming back from 2-1 down. We had numerous chances second half as they sat back and let Ilkeston attack them. It was a compliment to us that they appeared very pleased with the result. We scored two good goals but their penalty did appear a bit harsh even one of their officials thought Mitch had got the ball first. My Man of the Match was James Reid for his commanding display in the second half but Zak made a massive difference when he came on and Paddy Webb impressed with his work rate and finishing. Good to see that we can rest players and still look a forceful outfit.

We were right on top of the pen. It didn’t look harsh to me

But we’ve once more shot ourselves in the foot defensively. No one tracked the 5 for their first goal and two or three let it run past them allowing South a tap in

Overall we did enough to win the game though. Missed some great chances and had 65% plus possession

We weren’t good enough in either box today. Simple as that

Ollie BH put a really good performance in. Webb did ok too. But we should have won the game comfortably
