Ilkeston v Histon - Sat 2nd Oct

Next up is Histon at home. Histon are bottom of the table with just 4 points from ten games having lost their last six. Their record is P10, W1, D1, L8, GF9, GA31, Points 4.

Should be a convincing win but one never knows.

It’s very early days but the battle to avoid relegation appears to be between the following five teams who are currently struggling :
Histon currently bottom with 4 points
Daventry have picked up just one point from their last eight matches
Yaxley have picked up one point from their last six matches
Wisbech have lost eight of the ten matches played
Soham picked up just one point from their first six matches but won their last two against fellow strugglers Daventry and Histon.

Re: Ilkeston v Histon - Sat 2nd Oct

no easy games i have learnt that the hard way thinking " yeah should get three points next game " Yes this looks an easier game on paper but thats all it is ...on paper. They will be trying their damn  hardest to get some points so we have to be alert to that ...

Re: Ilkeston v Histon - Sat 2nd Oct

.

Two new signings

Ilkeston have signed two new players. The first signing announced was right back Tommy Williams and this is now followed by keeper Bradley Foster.  Tommy Williams was with Sheffield United while Bradley Foster is a Derby County Academy graduate.

I heard a rumour that Richard Stainsby was leaving and that was why Under 23 keeper Beau Watson had been named as the sub keeper in the last few games.

I'm assuming that Bradley Foster has been signed to provide competition for Ross.
I’m assuming that defender Tommy Williams has been signed due to our lengthening injury list.

Both new signings are available to play on Saturday against Histon.

Striker signs for Histon ahead of Ilkeston trip

ILKESTON TOWN v HISTON
Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division
Saturday 2nd October 2021

Kick off @ 3.00pm

We are delighted to confirm the signing of Rhys Thorpe ahead of the weekend’s trip to Ilkeston in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.

The 23 year old striker joins us from Eaton Socon where he has been regularly featuring on the list of goal scorers in their Kershaw League Premier Division campaign with 11 to his name from 8 appearances so far. Gaffer Lance Key is pleased to have added the striker to the squad saying “Rhys brings a bit more seniority to the club and bolsters our front line. He’s right up there in this years goalscoring charts in the Kershaw League and comes to us with a real hunger to play higher. We think he can fulfil his potential with us, he’s a player who is quick and direct and I am sure he will become a fans favourite very quickly.”

Thorpe is in the squad for tomorrow’s game alongside fellow recent arrival Ollie Brookes who made his debut last weekend against Soham. Lance hopes to have skipper Ed Rolph available again after he turned an ankle at Shepshed a couple of weeks ago although Andy Ballester and Bernat Burguera remain out. Lee Smith is back in full training now and is not far from a return although tomorrow will be too early for him but Pat Bexfield is available after returning to the club last week and is in line to make his second debut in a Histon shirt.

Stadium:
New Manor Ground
Ashworth Road
Ilkeston
DE7 8JF

Driving time from Bridge Road approx. 1 hour 55 minutes (110 miles)

Lovely pass by Brown-Hill sends Goodson away but Campbell can't reach the cross. Good defending by Tait.
Great chance for Zak but he's offside. Brown-Hill cross headed goalwards by Campbell but keeper saves.

Been listening to the Histon Officials during the interval and they're resigned to being relegated.
Brown -Hill works his way into a shooting position but the shot doesn't match his approach play.
GOAL No 6 scorer Remaye Campbell          6-0    61 minutes
