It is most regrettable that Sheffield United have still not paid to Ilkeston FC whatever is due to them. The reason for the hold up cannot be made public due to ongoing legal considerations. That means that the Club would certainly be sued if they make public any information about the situation. One would have hoped that the FA would have stepped in by now to help IFC due to their apparent perilous financial situation. Hopefully the truth will eventually emerge and all will become clear. On the other hand when things are finally sorted the agreed settlement will almost certainly be subject to a disclosure ban to protect the reputations of certain parties involved.

Contrary to Mr Miller's presumption on the other forum, the above post was my own and with no endorsement from the Club. Also it was not my intention to lay the blame for IFC's non payment exclusively at Sheffield United's door. We must presume that they have a legitimate reason for the delay. My concern was rather that IFC, being a non league club affiliated to the FA, appear to be at the mercy of long winded legal experts whilst the FA apparently wait patiently. The longer this drags on the more Ilkeston FC's future could be in doubt. Lets hope we get what we're entitled to as soon as possible so that football at Northern Premier League standard can continue at the NMG.
