I've included Stamford even though they're 8 points behind because I think they will be strong finishers. They are determined to go up and have added prolific goalscorer Jonathan Margetts to their squad.

Re: Remaining Fixtures

I think Chasetown have the harder set of fixtures left but you never know

I was thinking the same, Alex

So it seems like the race for top spot will probably be between Ilkeston and Halesowen. Both will be under massive pressure to keep winning and both will be hoping that the other slips up in the run in.

The key matches will be :
Mon 7 Feb  Coleshill v Halesowen
Sat 19 Feb  Carlton v Halesowen
Sat 19 Feb  Chasetown v Stamford
Sat 26 Feb  Ilkeston v Carlton
Sat 12 Mar  Chasetown v Ilkeston
Sat 19 Mar  Ilkeston v Coleshill
Sat 19 Mar  Halesowen v Chasetown
Sat   2 Apr  Carlton v Chasetown
Sat 16 Apr  Belper v Halesowen
Sat 16 Apr  Stamford v Coleshill
Sat 23 Apr  Stamford v Carlton

Halesowen and Chasetown both have four matches against promotion rivals
Ilkeston and Stamford both have three matches against promotion rivals

But it is very likely that there will be some unforeseen slip ups in other games. I think it could stay neck and neck until the final matches and the automatic promotion spot could be decided by goal difference.

Coleshill v Halesowen on Monday 7th Feb will be a bit of a grudge match. Coleshill won at Halesowen and the Yeltz weren't happy. Not sure of the details but I'm told Coleshill's tactics weren't appreciated.

Re: Remaining Fixtures

.

February month sees some testing confrontations for the promotion contenders

Mon 7 Feb  Coleshill v Halesowen
Sat 19 Feb  Carlton v Halesowen
Sat 19 Feb  Chasetown v Stamford
Sat 26 Feb  Ilkeston v Carlton

Halesowen have two difficult away games at Coleshill and Carlton. There's just a chance they could fail to take all six points.

There's a real chance that Chasetown could drop points against Stamford.

If Halesowen beat both Coleshill and Carlton then that puts enormous pressure on Ilkeston when they play Carlton.

If either Ilkeston or Halesowen were to slip up unexpectedly against one of the lesser teams it could prove to be disastrous as it takes the pressure off of their rival.

It's going to be tense from now on. Injuries will play a part.

Re: Remaining Fixtures

In Martin Carruthers' post-match interview he thought Montel Gibson had damaged ankle ligaments; have we heard anymore on this? If so, have we lost Bennett and Gibson for the season?

Re: Remaining Fixtures

If that is the case then that's two major losses for our promotion push

Went to watch training last night. Montel was there doing light training on his own so hopefully his injury is not as bad as at first thought. He was just running and doing a few exercises under the supervision of Laura Allcock (physio).

There was one player that myself and Danny didn't recognise. ????   For me the standout players in training were James Carvell and James Reid.  James Carvell was so fast and enthusiastic anyone would think he was our star player ..... and he can't get in the team.  James Reid has so much skill he just stood out.

Halesowen are away to Carlton

For the winners of these matches, their promotion hopes will be given a massive boost
For the losers it will be major setback.

Bedworth United v Sporting Khalsa
Cambridge City v Sutton Coldfield Town
Carlton Town v Halesowen Town
