Poor first half from Ilkeston. Chasetown the better side. We won't win the game without a big improvement in the second half. But the good news is that HALESOWEN ARE LOSING. IF HALESOWEN LOSE A DRAW HERE IS NOT A BAD RESULT.

I'm behind the goal Ilkeston have been attacking and most of the play has been at the other end, On a positive note we have defended well.

Unfortunately after the Chasetown goal there was trouble behind the opposite goal involving some Ilkeston fans.

Trouble again after the game where 'Chasetown" fans lay in wait for the Ilkeston fans returning to their buses.

Now back on the bus Ilkeston fans are very disappointed at the teams performance. We never tested the Chasetown keeper the whole game.

A really disappointing team performance today. Chasetown were by far the better side, We defended okay but had absolutely nothing up front. I can't remember us testing their keeper.
In my opinion:
Ross kept us in the game in the second half. The only other player deserving praise was Tommy Williams.
Verma, Wakefield and Bird tried hard to get us going but the Chasetown defence were too good for them.
Zak was anonymous again, Whats gone wrong?

To complete the humiliation Chasetown brought on portly Kyle Perry for the final few minutes to cause irritation and waste time.

We’re just so deep

So we can’t push midfielders forward to get past Rem who becomes isolated

Defended well last two weeks. Feel for Jemson/ Irvine who get left out having done well

The link between midfield & forwards seems to have gone missing. Credit to Chasetown who were worthy winners

Once more though Halesowen let us off the hook. This won’t go on for ever. We have to take care of our own business

Though Gibson looked bright when he came on. With our forwards currently misfiring - he has to start next week for me

We’d have taken our current position at the start of the season though. But can afford no more slip ups

Ilkeston’s unbeaten run came to an end at Chasetown in front of the Scholars biggest ever league gate of 1404. The game was decided by a late goal by Joey Butlin but before that Ross Durrant had been by far the busier keeper.
Chasetown started strongly but the first chance of the game was a Kieran Fenton header for Ilkeston which was wide. Charlie Wakefield then had an opportunity from a tight angle after being picked out by Billy Bennett but his effort was comfortably saved by Curtis Pond. Although Chasetown were having more possession they were not creating many chances until a Joey Butlin effort flew wide on 19 minutes. Jack Langston then fired over the bar from a good position. There was nearly a Chasetown calamity when keeper Pond’s clearance struck the back of defender Ryan Wynter and fell loose but fortunately for them they managed to clear. Just before half time a terrific effort by Scholars skipper Daniel O’Callaghan flew just outside the angle of post and crossbar.
Ilkeston had a strong penalty shout three minutes into the second half when Wakefield appeared to be fouled. On the hour Langston headed over as Chasetown started to dominate and Durrant was then constantly in action. Montel Gibson had an effort blocked at the other end but Chasetown always looked more likely to break the deadlock. Sub Luke McGinnell had a good chance which he blasted over but on 84 minutes Chasetown got the decisive goal through Butlin. Ilkeston forced a corner in added time which Durrant went forward for but Chasetown cleared and the whistle blew for time. Chasetown’s win brings them level on points with Ilkeston and Halesowen’s draw means the top three are now level on 69 points with Ilkeston having the best goal difference.
