Did anyone get a good view of our penalty appeal ? I was behind the opposite goal so only had a long distance view. I could see Charlie go down and all the players appealing and there was a massive shout from the Ilkeston fans.
Regarding the trouble after the game:
I was later than most of our supporters leaving the ground so by the time I reached the mini roundabout where the trouble was, it was full of stewards and police. I wondered why the cars leaving the ground were moving so slowly. Apparently some of the idiots were harassing car drivers as well as the Ilkeston fans who were returning to the school where the buses were parked. I'm pretty sure that the trouble makers were not regular Chasetown supporters.

I was not at the game on Saturday but it does sound like they froze a bit under the pressure of being league leaders. Martin is right that all of the players now have to step up and fight for every point if Ilkeston are to be automatically promoted. It is well known that teams who slip into the play offs after being in the automatic spots for most of the season can struggle morale wise. Looking at the fixtures we have left I think the hardest game will be Saturdays game against Coleshill Town but after that we have games that we should be able to win and win well. We have to be positive in that our future and destiny is in our own hands. We win each game and we are up simple as that! (That is winless Halesowen and Chasetown win their games by cricket scores although they play each other next week so one or both teams will drop points). When we believe we are undoubtedly the best team in this league but we cannot take that for granted. I am sure that Martin will be trying to restore the teams positivity in training this week and if we get a big vocal crowd this weekend it will no doubt help. I doubt Colehill will bring much of a crowd as they are only got 89 attending their home game on Saturday despite the fact they are still fighting for a place in the play offs.

I’ve said this over and over but we just play too deep
So the defence can’t push the midfield forward to join the strikers
Look at Saturday - their midfielders regularly ran beyond Butlin. Ours never did because the distances are just too big to cover
Whether it’s by design or accident it doesn’t work. We might be staying deep as we’re not the quickest back four but for me that slight change would help
Expecting a big reaction Saturday. Team selection will be interesting based on the managers post match comments so let’s hope we win v Coleshill, the others draw and we’re then effectively three clear with 6 to play. 4 of which are on plastic

I’m glad some people are not as pessimistic as me. I was crushed by Saturday’s result and performance. You’re right John, promotion is still in our own hands. And as Dick points out most of our remaining matches are on artificial surfaces which suits us. I think we can win our home games so the only one I’m worried about is Cambridge away.
I think it’s time to make a few changes Personally I would start with Gibson for Troke, Carvell for Goodson. I would also like to see Irvine and Brown-Hill included in the team.

The Pitching In Northern Premier League @NorthernPremLge
Huge win for @ChasetownFC1954 against @PitchingIn_ Midlands leaders @ilkestontown_fc as top 3 all on equal points as @corbytownfc hold Halesowen.
Playoff gap down to 6 following @coleshilltownfc win as wins in bottom half almost cut off the bottom 3.

There's just no way of knowing which of the top three will clinch the automatic promotion spot. Or could it be that Stamford make up the six point deficit. It's not beyond them to do that.
Soham, Wisbech and Histon now look certs to be relegated.

Been down to training tonight.
Fear not. Chasetown should be our last defeat.
