Not the start we wanted. Wasn’t too worried after two draws against Tamworth and Leiston but there can be no excuses for losing at Barwell. If we hope to be challenging for promotion then we really shouldn’t be losing against a team that narrowly avoided relegation last season.I know that It’s still settling in time for each team but Coalville look like Champions already after just three games. They’ve not had an easy start but they’ve got maximum points and scored eleven goals. 

By comparison we have only two points and have scored only four goals.  Even Basford are above us with three points after beating Rushden although they have conceded eight goals We really must start winning against Redditch this Saturday then follow it up with another three points at Rushden.  

Some of our players aren’t producing the required form and I’m not sure what our best team is. Because of injuries we’ve not had a settled side and maybe it’s just a matter of time before we start to click. Have we brought in too many new players? Should we show faith in the retained players from last season? Martin Carruthers said that the players brought in are quality but so far many would say that the team hasn't lived up to expectations.

Despite not the best results, supporters are backing the team with the best home gate in the league against Leiston and excellent turnouts in both away games. And a full supporters bus aleady for the Rushden away match on 27th August.
