I think crowd we be well over 1500 fans. I also think they might put segregation in as well

Re: FA Cup 1st qualifying round draw

If we could win our next two matches against Rushden and Mickleover it would really set things up for a cracking FA Cup tie. I think it's just a matter of time before we click into match winning form. The cup draw pairing with Matlock has certainly created a lot of interest and excitement despite our less than perfect start. I think most fans know that we have a good enough side to cause an upset and going into the tie as underdogs could be advantageous.
This is a massive game for both sides and I agree with Alex there should be at least 1500 at Causeway Lane. Might need a replay to decide who goes through and another 1500 attendance at the NMG.

Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round Preview
This weekend sees attention turned to the Emirates FA Cup as clubs in the Pitching In Southern Football League embark on the First Qualifying Round.

Friday evening sees two ties set the ball rolling, with Premier Division Central club Stourbridge welcoming Northern Premier League Division One West side Hanley Town to the War Memorial Athletic Ground and Division One Central outfit Aylesbury United entertaining Isthmian League Premier Division Margate at The Meadow.Hanley, promoted via the North West Counties League at the end of last season, will fancy their chances of causing an `upset` as the Glassboys have had a poor start to 2022/23 and have yet to record a win in their six league matches played, having drawn three and lost three.Hanley have won two, drawn one and lost one of their first five games as a Step 4 club and have already played two FA Cup ties, hammering Hellenic League side Hereford Lads Club 5-1 away in the Extra Preliminary Round and then having a much tougher 1-0 success at their Payaro Stadium against NPL Division One Midlands new boys Hinckley Leicester Road. They also possess a striker well-known to the Glassboys` faithful – former Rushall Olympic and Hednesford Town striker Danny Glover.

Aylesbury go into their tie with Margate on the back of a 4-0 Bank Holiday Monday defeat at Berkhamsted – the Ducks first loss of the campaign to date. They had won two and drawn one of their other four matches and, like Hanley, have already played two FA Cup ties, beating Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Ashton & Backwell United away 2-0 and then Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Ardley United 1-0 at The Meadow.Margate had made a mixed start to their season, beating Bowers & Pitsea and drawing with Kingstonian and Horsham but losing the other two.

Saturday sees the majority of the First Qualifying Round take place and there are some interesting ties – some of which look `dangerous` for Southern League clubs!

AFC Rushden & Diamonds go into their tie at Essex Senior League side Enfield FC at the foot of the fledgling Premier Division Central table without a win in six games and with two draws to date.Their hosts have only played a couple of league games – winning both – due to having two FA Cup ties in which they beat league rivals Ilford and caused an `upset` by knocking out Isthmian North side Hullbridge Sports 3-1.They also made FA Vase progress last weekend with a 2-0 home win against Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division outfit Hadleigh United.

Ilkeston Town came into the Premier Division Central as champions of the Northern Premier Division One Midlands and were lauded to potentially make it back-to-back promotions by the bookmakers in pre-season.But, like Diamonds, Martin Carruthers` side are still looking for a first win, although they have drawn four of their six games but lost to switched Mickleover at the Microlise New Manor Ground on Bank Holiday Monday. The Robins face a very tricky test as they go to the DCJ Group Insurance Arena to face Northern Premier League Premier Division side Matlock Town.Like Ilkeston, the Gladiators were expected to do well this season after finishing fourth last term but have won two, drawn two and lost two of their first six matches.

There is sure to be a decent crowd at New Cuthbury as Wimborne Town, relegated to Division One South at the end of last season, welcome Dorset neighbours and fellow Magpies, Premier Division South side Dorchester Town.Wimborne warmed up for the tie with a 5-1 walloping of Lymington Town on Monday and beat Wessex League Premier Division side Moneyfields 3-1 away in the last round. They have won two and lost two of their four league games to date.Dorchester, who struggled to avoid joining Wimborne in going down for much of last season, have begun the new campaign well, winning four and drawing one of their six matches – their only defeat coming away at Bolitho Park against Truro City.

Andy Peaks will be wondering which of his Tamworth sides turn up for their home tie with NPL Division One Midlands newcomers Boldmere St Michaels! If it’s the one who hammered newly promoted Bedford Town 8-1 at The Eyrie in the Premier Division Central on August 20th, they will be fine. However, if it’s the one who suffered a 4-1 home loss to Coalville Town then Lambs supporters will fear an `upset`.The Mikes, promoted via the Midland League at the end of last season, lost for the first time as a Step 4 side on Bank Holiday Monday when an 85th minute penalty condemned them to a 1-0 defeat at The Moat against Gresley Rovers. They have already played two FA Cup ties, beating former league rivals Walsall Wood 1-0 in the Extra Preliminary Round and then winning 1-0 at Noose Lane against new league rivals Sporting Khalsa.

Another NPL Division One Midlands side, Shepshed Dynamo, are involved in an exciting-looking cup derby as they welcome high-flying Premier Division Central neighbours Coalville Town to the Dovecote. However, a crumb of comfort for the hosts is that Adam Stevens` side lost for the first time this season on Monday as newcomers Basford United beat them 1-0 at the MSCC Stadium. Dynamo have played two FA Cup ties already. They were taken to a replay in the Extra Preliminary Round by Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division outfit Winterton Rangers, winning 3-1 at West Street after being held to a goalless draw at the Dovecote. They then edged past former United Counties League Premier Division North rivals Pinchbeck United by the odd goal in five. In the league, Shepshed have won just once and lost three of their five games to date.

Premier Division South club Hendon have endured a miserable start to the new season, losing all six of their matches, including a 3-2 Silver Jubilee Park loss to Metropolitan Police on Monday. So, on paper, their tie at The Hollow against Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Potton United represents a real opportunity for an `upset`. But the hosts, who got their wish and were switched back to the SSML from the United Counties League in the summer, have yet to win in the league but have won twice in the FA Cup – beating Thurlow Nunn Leaguers Norwich United 3-2 away in the Extra Preliminary Round and then beat another from the same league, Soham Town Town Rangers, after a replay in the Preliminary Round. Will it be the chance for Lee Allinson’s men to kick-start their season, or will it be an FA Cup `shock`?

Any other potential `upsets` to watch out for? Barwell, although buoyed by successive draws, face a tricky home tie against Midland League Premier Division side Highgate United, and Bromsgrove Sporting’s faithful will sure to be put to the test when they have NPL Division One Midlands side Stamford AFC visiting the Victoria Ground.Hellenic League Premier Division side Roman Glass St George will fancy their chances at home to a Hartley Wintney outfit who have lost four of their five Premier Division South matches to date, while there is sure to be another good crowd at Badgers Hill hoping to witness a cup `shock` as Premier Division South side Tiverton Town make the relatively short journey up the M5 to face Division One South hosts Frome Town.
