From Ilkeston's point of view this is a massive game despite us being without a win so far.. The FA Cup often throws up surprise results and this just might be the match to kick start our season. New signing Joe Wilson should play and the others in the team will be playing for their place in a squad that is likely to be reduced shortly.

Ilkeston and Matlock are both at Step 3 level but Ilkeston are newcomers finding their feet whereas Matlock are experienced campaigners. Ilkeston started the season full of expectancy but due to results they go into the match as underdogs.

There's sure to be a massive crowd with hundreds from Ilkeston having a day out in Matlock and attending the match. Will be a brilliant atmosphere inside the ground.

With more new signings, supporters of Ilkeston Town FC have absolutely no idea what the team will be to face Matlock Town. The seriousness of most injuries is kept quiet so we don't even know who might be available. We do know that Jamie Ward, Ben O'Hanlon and Dempsey Arlott-John are not available and we await the return from injury for Dan Bradley. Martin Carruthers will be well aware that wholesale changes upset team performance and bring criticism from fans.
We need every player to take responsibility and give 100% for the cause. After a poor team performance against Mickleover we need to see a big improvement. The performance is more important than the result.

30 minutes to kickoff. The Supporters bus has just arrived at the ground after a couple of hours in Matlock Bath.

15 minutes to kick off, The ground is starting to fill up especilly in the main stand.

Big roar as the teams come out. Matlock in blue shirts and white shorts. Ilkeston in red and white shirts and black shorts.

Matlock break and a great effort by Chippendale that's just wide. Nice Ilkeston attack - doing okay so far.

Header from Byrne is too high then a good collect by Deeney. Impressed with Solanke so far. O'Grady cross is well held by Pollard. Great Ilkeston move ends with Wilson crossing and Gibson header just over the bar. 0-0 27 mins

Another big chance for Matlock is put wide. Barnett booked for foul on Eratt-Thompson. Good overlap by Ollie but Matlock clear. Good spell for Ilkeston. then byrne breaks for Matlock and Deeney has to save 0-0 37 mins

Almost a 3rd for Ilkeston I think the ball came back off the post. It's lively now, Matlock long ball forward finds Slew who shoots wildly wide. Volley by Montel is saved. 2-0 71 mins
