After draws against Leiston and Redditch and defeats against Mickleover and Anstey, can we record our first NMG win against Stratford?
It’s been a steady start to the season and we were hoping to be higher than 18th after eight matches. But the good news is that we’re only five points behind Needham Market who are 5th and Stratford who are 6th, so a couple of wins will get us up the table.

Stratford's record so far : P8, W3, D4, L1, F12, A12, Points 13

Stratford are currently without an away win in the league with 11 of their 13 points coming from home games. However they are unbeaten in their last 6 league matches with home wins against Hednesford, Bromsgrove and Rushden and draws against Redditch (A), Kings Langley (A) and Nuneaton (H).

It's matchday and I think there could be changes afoot as Ward starts to assert his authority. As with all new managers, there are players he likes and players he doesn't. I think we'll see Chris O'Grady getting much more game time.
Ward got off to flier at Coalville but now he has to halt a 3 game winless run. A win tonight and Ward will be back on track and three points could lift us up the table if other results go our way. (Rushall’s win at Redditch last night lifted them above Ilkeston from 18th to 14th.)
Ward talked about winning our home matches but that is something we haven’t done so far, our 4 home games resulting in 2 draws and 2 defeats. That has to be put right tonight.

Another way at looking at things. We are unbeaten in our last 2 league games. Both of which were away from home.

Win tonight and its 7 from a possible 9. Ill take that

I'm gutted at losing Montel but we have to get behind the team and find a win tonight. The club always comes first and Jamie is the manager. We picked up another couple of injuries at Bedford so Arlott-John and Willock may not be available tonight. I've heard that some of our long term injured players will be back soon, probably not tonight but soon and that includes Jamie himself and Dan Bradley.

It's important that Jamie gets that first home win tonight!

Both sides keeping possession well but no chances so far. spoke too soon good attack by Ilkeston but shot goes wide. Great cross by Walters for Stratford bur no one on the end of it. 0-0 9 mins.

Another good Stratford attack and Ilkeston have to concede a corner. Header from the corner goes just wide. Really good football from both sides. Another Ilkeston chance but Stratford defender does well. 0-0 15 mins

Injury to Molyneux . He's replaced by Storer on 16 mins. Another good Ilkeston attack results in a corner. Keeper Phillips flaps at the ball and gets away with it . Saving header by Hutchinson following another fine cross by Walters. 0-0 23 mins

Good effort by Rooney for Stratford but it's wide. Another surging run by Arlott-John but he's fouled. Arlott-John wins a corner but it comes to nothing. Chance for O'Grady but he puts it wide. Now a chance fr Troke and he puts it wide. 0-0 58 mins

Chances are coming for Ilkeston now. Arlott-John tries a curler but it doesn't curl enough. Ilkeston are starting to get on top but its a goal for Stratford. Rooney the scorer 0-1 63 mins

Good game of football with sides going for it. One minute ilson looked on top then Stratford , thats how it was all game.
looked a bad injury to their player hope he is ok but towards the end of the game an ambulance turned up.
