It’s another tough away test for Ilkeston on Saturday as they make the 110 miles trip to Royston on the back of 3 defeats.
Royston are mid table with 15 points from 11 games and their average home attendance is 297.
Jamie Ward has been very disappointed with recent performances and plans to bring in players to replace the under performers.
Dave hasn't given up on a promotion push but realistically we just need to pull away from the relegation area.

Here are Saturday 15th October Fixtures
Rushden & Diamonds v Redditch
Barwell v Mickleover
Bromsgrove Sporting v Leiston
Hitchin v Hednesford
Royston v Ilkeston
Rushall v Bedford
Stourbridge v Stratford
Ilkeston currently have 11 points. Really hoping we can pull off a win because Mickleover (11 points), Bedford (11 points), Stourbridge (10 points), and Barwell (9 points)) can go above us if we lose.
But we're due a change of fortune and this could be a turning point.
We've lost our last three. Royston have won their last two. So it looks like an Ilkeston win.

Saturday's Match Preview
Whilst there will be a lot of attention on the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday, there are a number of important games in the Pitching In Southern Football League this weekend.
In the Premier Division Central, Leiston have the opportunity to move into third place when they travel to the Victoria Ground to take on Bromsgrove Sporting. The Suffolk side went fourth after a good 3-0 win at Top Field against Hitchin Town on Monday night, while the Rouslers were beaten 1-0 at home by league leaders Tamworth 24 hours later.
Redditch United could also go third as they head to Hayden Road to take on second-from-bottom AFC Rushden & Diamonds. Diamonds, who could have a new manager in place in time for Saturday’s kick-off, are playing their third successive home game and will be buoyed by Tuesday’s second win of the season against second-placed Nuneaton Borough. They have lost one of their interim managers, Chris Willmott, who has left the club in the wake of Andy Burgess`s departure, leaving under-23 boss Richard Maxwell in charge. Matt Clarke’s Reds are enjoying their best start to a campaign for some time and head to Rushden in fifth spot after sharing a 2-2 draw at third-placed Coalville Town on Tuesday.
Hednesford Town returned to the foot of the table after Diamonds` win and their 1-0 defeat at Basford United on the same evening, and Steve Burr’s side travel to an out-of-sorts Hitchin side on Saturday. The Canaries, playing at home for the fourth time in a row, drew against St Ives Town on Monday, September 26th but before and since have lost five games all by a 3-0 scoreline!
Third-from-bottom Barwell, who have won just once in their last six league and cup matches, welcome Mickleover to the UK FLOORING DIRECT Stadium, with the visitors having lost their last two.
Stourbridge are fourth-from-bottom but have won their last two games, whilst visitors to the War Memorial Athletic Ground on Saturday, Stratford Town, have drawn one and lost four of their last five in league and cup.
Ilkeston Town are another team in need of points under new joint bosses Jamie Ward and Ben Turner as they head south to Garden Walk to take on Royston Town. The Robins have lost their last three, including Tuesday’s game at Rushall Olympic when, at the same time, Steve Castle’s Crows were edging out Kings Langley 1-0 to move into 11th place in the table.
Rushall will look to move into the top five when they have another game at Dales Lane against a Bedford Town side who have dropped down the standings after seven league and cup games without a victory.

Regarding our match at Royston; in my eyes this changes everything.
Ilkeston are boosted by the return of Montel Gibson and I'm pretty confident he will be a goalscorer.
Let's give him a massive welcome back. He can be our match winner.
Suddenly I"m feeling much more confident of a win and a much needed three points.

Yes its good to have Montel back so i take it everybody have kissed and made up, just hope it doesnt happen again.
Looks like will have to score two as we seem to be leaking goals which isnt good in any team. Was thinking of going to this game but i feel knackered from our walking week away in the Lakes .....

Nice ground but not the best view as we're at ground level and facing the sun.
Ilkeston are playing in their blue away kit . Royston are wearing white shirts and black shorts.
The teams are out. Ilkeston to kick off and are starting down the slope
And we're off.........

Nothing resembling a chance for either side so far. 0-0 9 mins

Great chance for Ward who times his run perfectly but he fires wide of the left hand post. That was a big chance to calm the nerves. Another chance for ward but the shot is well blocked by a defender 0-0 14 mins

Looks like Ward is coming off. He's replaced by Troke on 16 mins

Bad foul on Eratt-Thompson. Yellow for Royston player. Fenton tries his luck from the free kick but keeper saves easily. 0-0 20 mins

First shot at goal by Royston and its wide. Another Royston chance but it's wide again. Jack Thomas is fouled but free kick is headed away. Solanke wins a corner. Nothing from it . Penalty appeal by Ilkeston but its not given. Arlott-John went down under challenge just inside the box. Might have been given if it was outside the area. 0-0 32 mins

Free kick Royston in good position wide right. O'Grady heads it out for a corner. Header from corner goes over the bar. Arlott-John is sent tumbling and needs attention from the physio. Its a free kick in Fenton range, but Wilson takes and Delap is close to getting his head to it 0-0 43 mins

3 minutes added time. Great tackle by Delap thwarts a Royston dangerous attack..
It's half time and goalless. Not a brilliant game so far but at least we have a clean sheet.
Offline
All to play for in the second half as we play up the slope and into the wind. We need to keep the ball down more than in the first half.
The players are back out and we're off again......

Best move of the game by Ilkeston involving Eratt-Thompson and Wilson but the only reward is a corner.
GOAL Ilkeston i missed it but it was a header from a right side cross 1-0 50 mins
