Please note that our home fixture with @BarwellFC1992 has been brought forward from Tuesday, November 22nd to Saturday, November 19th.
This is due to neither side having any further involvement in the FA Trophy.

Barwell will be the first team that we will have played twice in the league. We played the away fixture in August and it was our first defeat so we will be keen make amends.
Our team for that match was : Deeney, Bennett, O'Hanlon, Bird, Turner, Fenton (c), Ward, Thomas J, O'Grady, Gibson and Goodson Subs Campbell, Brown-Hill, Hilton, Willock and Bukowski.
There’s been a few comings and goings since then.
Barwell currently have four points less than Ilkeston but with a game in hand.

Barwell, our opponents at the NMG on Saturday. won against St Ives last night and are now unbeaten in their last five matches.

Looking forward to the Barwell match. I missed the Barwell away match.
One of these Saturdays I think we will hit our potential and win well. We ought to be scoring more goals than we are with the attacking players we have.

With all the rain to come there are likely to be a few postponements for waterlogged pitches this Saturday. Good job we have an artificial surface.

That night their right winger caused us problems all night ,we didnt start really playing until the last 15 mins,
Barwell hav been on a good run , nothing major but its still a good run so i think this will be a close game.

Ilkeston and Barwell are both currently on 20 points. We still have a situation where only 3 points separate ten teams. Needham Market are 9th with 21 points and Bedford are 18th with 18 points. We really need to pick up six points from our next two matches (both at home) in order to pull away from the relegation zone because after that we have three tough matches against top four teams, Redditch (4th), Tamworth (top) and Leiston (3rd).

This season has been very different to last season following promotion to Step 3. When we were put into the Southern League we didn’t really know what the standard would be like but we expected to do well considering the new players we had signed.
I think it’s fair to say that we have found it tough going so far resulting in many changes of personnel. We haven’t been able to establish ourselves in the top half of the table which is disappointing and the feeling is that we have under performed.
Personally I don’t think there are any teams in this league who we can’t beat and I still go to every game thinking we can win. Indeed we should have won both of our matches against the top two, Tamworth and Nuneaton.
With our wage bill among the highest in the league, surely it’s just a matter of time before we click and show what we’re capable of and climb the table.
Jamie Ward has brought in several new faces in a bid to change our fortunes so let’s make sure we get a win today against Barwell. I’m looking forward to a match when our forwards score a hatful of goals. I’m thinking Tyree Wilson could make a big difference when playing along side Montel Gibson and Dempsey Arlott-John. There are no easy matches but a comfortable win will lift the confidence of both players and supporters.
