Almost Another Wipeout of Weekend Fixtures
It was almost another wipe-out of weekend fixtures in the Pitching In Southern Football League.

Jourdain Masidi - brace

Only three games in the Premier Division Central, one in the Premier Division South and one in Division One South survived the cold pre-Christmas weather.

Rushall Olympic moved into fourth place in the Premier Division Central after beating Hitchin Town 3-1 at Dales Lane .It was 2 minutes into first half injury-time when Jourdain Masidi gave the Pics the breakthrough. Then, 6 minutes after the restart, Masidi doubled the home side’s lead. Diogo Freitas Gouveia reduced the deficit 15 minutes from time, only for Will Shorrock to ensure victory for Liam McDonald’s men in the 84th minute.
Ilkeston Town are eighth after recording a 3-0 win over Alvechurch at the Microlise New Manor Ground. After a goalless first period in front of a decent if freezing 741 crowd, Chris O’Grady put the Robins in front 2 minutes into the second period. On 55 minutes, Ilkeston’s star signing, Lee Tomlin, doubled the home side’s advantage before Dempsey Arlott-John made it game over in time added on.
And Bedford Town moved to within a point of 14th-placed Barwell after wi winning 2-1 at the UK FLOORING DIRECT Stadium. Beck-Ray Enoru put the hosts ahead after 17 minutes, only for Sam Dreyer on 34 minutes and an Edward Gyamfi penalty a minute before the break, to turn the game in the Eagles favour. And the visitors held firm in the second half to slip into 16th spot.

In the Premier Division South, Truro City were prevented from returning to the top of the table after losing 1-0 at the Avenue Stadium to a now sixth-placed Dorchester Town. A crowd of 388 saw a 38th-minute Charlie Gunson goal prove decisive for the Magpies.

In Division One South, second-placed AFC Totton moved to within eight points of neighbours Sholing, who have played two games more, after a 1-0 win at the Snows Stadium against mid-table Willand Rovers. The only goal in front of a terrific crowd of 970 came from Matt Burrows on the half-hour mark.
