NAILERS PART COMPANY WITH KITTRICK BY DAVID LAUGHLIN
Belper Town Football Club regrets to announce that the club has parted company with manager, Steve Kittrick and assistant, Luke Potter.
Appointed just over three months ago in mid-September, Kittrick took over the reins with the club rooted to the foot of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division table.
He presided over 15 league matches for the Nailers, winning just three of these and leaving the club still in the relegation zone.
The parting of the ways came ironically on the day when the club achieved a league double over Stafford Rangers with a 2-1 victory at the Raygar Stadium, which lifted the Nailers off the foot of the table.
There had been huge criticism of the club and the team’s performance after the heavy 4-0 loss to by local rivals Matlock Town seven days earlier and as a consequence, the Board decided that a change in direction would be the best way forward.
The club will be working hard behind the scenes to bring in a new management team and hopes to have replacements in place as matter of urgency
.The club would like to pay their thanks to Steve and Luke for their dedication in their respective roles and are genuinely saddened that their endeavours did not bring the rewards that had been expected.
