Both teams have left the field after fans of both sides began throwing projectiles at each other.

It will be interesting to see what action the league takes, if any.

Maybe both teams will have points deducted. That would be good.

Top-of-The-Table Clash Abandoned
For the first time in many years, a match in the Pitching In Southern Football League had to abandoned due to crowd disturbances on Tuesday night.

But the top-of-the-table clash at the CR Mot Centre Community Stadium between Premier Division Central leaders Tamworth and neighbours Nuneaton Borough had to be called off by the match officials around the hour-mark after supporters of both sides began throwing objects at each other. It was hugely disappointing for the majority in the tremendous crowd of 2,126, with the Lambs 2-0 up at the time, courtesy of a Dan Creaney brace.

Rushall Olympic leap-frogged Nuneaton into third place after they beat Alvechurch 2-1 at Dales Lane – a result that has ended Ian Long’s side’s recent revival and leaves them 16th in the table. The first half was devoid of much in the way of goalmouth action but 6 minutes after the break, the Pics broke the deadlock when Richard Batchelor headed home a long throw-in from Alex Moore.Alvechurch pulled back on level terms with 20 minutes to go with a header by Ash Carter. What proved to be the winning goal came in the 81st minute when Alex Cameron poked the ball home from close range after a corner had been only half-cleared.

Coalville Town remain in fifth place after a 3-0 home win over mid-table St Ives Town but are now only two points behind Nuneaton and ten of Tamworth with games in hand on all above them. In front of a crowd of 465 at the Mander Cruickshank Solicitors Stadium, the hosts took a 15th minute lead when the ball fell to Tom McGlinchey just inside the box and he hammered a half-volley past Saints` keeper James Dadge.Dadge was in the action again to inadvertently make it 2-0 to the Ravens in the 55th minute when he palmed a Tim Berridge cross into his own net via a post. And 5 minutes later, Dadge was once again involved as Coalville made the points safe when they were awarded a penalty after the keeper had brought down Ash Chambers and Eliot Putman duly converted the resulting spot-kick to make it 3-0.

Tuesday’s other game involved the relegation situation as Bedford Town welcomed Stratford Town to The Eyrie. It was the Bards who broke the deadlock 7 minutes before half-time when Jamie Molyneux finished off a good passing move. The 433 crowd saw the hosts fall 2-0 down just 4 minutes into the second half when Joe Butterworth’s back pass eluded his keeper Lewis Elsom and rolled into the back of the net.And Stratford made the points secure by adding a third with 15 minutes remaining with Andre Wright turning neatly before firing past Elsom. Stratford remain in third-bottom spot after this win, with Bedford a place above them, three points in front but having played three more games.
