This Season

Bromsgrove Sporting have only scored once in their last four games and that was a 2-0 win over King’s Langley.

Bromsgrove Sporting’s biggest win of the season was also against King’s Langley in October when they beat them 5-2 away. Two weeks later they suffered their worst defeat of the season against Leiston when they lost 7-1 at home.

Bromsgrove Sporting’s biggest gate of the season was 817 for the visit of Nuneaton Borough in November.

Bromsgrove Sporting’s smallest home crowd of the season was 518 when they beat Stamford in the FA Cup.

Bromsgrove Sporting are the third best supported team in the Southern League Premier Central Division with an average home gate of 641.

Bromsgrove Sporting have only won two of their last ten games, drawing four and losing four. They have only scored nine goals and conceded eleven.

History

Bromsgrove Sporting were founded in 2009 after the collapse of Bromsgrove Rovers. For a very short while they were a Bromsgrove Rovers and Bromsgrove Sporting in existence.

Bromsgrove Sporting like their predecessors are known as the Rouslers which is allegedy a Bromsgrove terracotta devil which is well known locally or alternatively it means to wake up in the local dialect.

In 2010 Bromsgrove Sporting started life as a member of the Midland Football Combination Division Two. They finished third and where promoted to Division One. They again finished third and were then promoted to the Premier Division.

In 2014 Bromsgrove Sporting joined the Midland Football League Division One and finished second twice and first twice before gaining promotion to the Southern League Central Division One. They again finished second and were promoted to the Southern League Premier Central Division.

Last season Bromsgrove Sporting finished eighteenth in the Southern League Premier Central Division. This was their lowest league placing since their formation in 2010.

Marshall Willock and Kyle Perry are the only two players we know to have represented Bromsgrove Sporting and Ilkeston Town.

Ilkeston Town and Bromsgrove Sporting have only played each once in a league game when Ilkeston won 3-1 earlier this season at the Microlise NMG.

Bromsgrove Sporting beat Ilkeston Town 2-0 in the FA Trophy last season.

In 2016-17 season Bromsgrove Sporting reached the semi final of the FA Vase losing out to Cleethorpes Town.

Well we have yet again got a full coach going to an away match this time at Bromsgrove. Zane is doing a great job but the fans are amazing . With costs going through the bloody roof on everything the fans have dug in deep .
Having full coaches while we aren't in the play off places in just amazing. Incredible support and hard by Zane asked these away journeys worth while .

Daniel Sweeney - probably their best player, has gone to Macclesfield

He’s had more clubs than Kieran Wells - great talent but dreadful attitude. That might explain the goal drought. A free hit. Playoffs have gone so play with freedom enjoy it and build for next season

Such a shame that for a second time we have lost Joe Wilson one of the brightest prospects to have graced the NMG since the club reformed in 2017. The fact he lived in Reading may have made his travelling expenses too heavy a burden for Ilkeston Town as they strive to live within their means. He has joined Oxford City and as expected they are delighted to have signed him. Not only an excellent player but a highly intelligent young man. Good luck Joe!
