Re: Sat 18th March - Ilkeston Town v Royston Town - Kick Off 3pm

.
The Royston home match will be a tough one as they are currently one of the league's in-form teams and they can go above us if they win.

Their record so far is P34  W14  D8  L12  F53  A60  Points  50

38  of their 50 points have been earned at their home ground, Garden Walk, and only two teams have a better home record. Only Ilkeston and Barwell have won there.

By contrast Royston have picked up only 12 points on the road.

Their away record is  P16  W3  D3  L10  F20  A39  Points 12

Probably their best results this season were wins at home and away against Rushall and draws home and away against Coalville.

Leroy Lita has scored in each of his last six appearances. Can he extend this to seven matches tomorrow?

Re: Sat 18th March - Ilkeston Town v Royston Town - Kick Off 3pm

.

Pleased that we have O'Malley and Hallam until the end of the season. Starting today we need to get as many wins as possible just in case one of the top five hit an unlikely collapse in results.
FootballWebPages have predicted a 3-0 win but I don't think it will be that easy. It's difficult to understand how a team can have such a good home record and such poor away record at the same time.
I'd settle for a win by any score and a Leroy goal.

It's now approaching kickoff time. We had a downpour of rain earlier but it's not raining now so come on down.

It's starting to rain again as the teams come out.

Royston are in all turquoise and Ilkeston are in their home kit.

ilkeston start by attacking the car park end.

We're off

Re: Sat 18th March - Ilkeston Town v Royston Town - Kick Off 3pm

.
It's yet another draw and another two points dropped but what a game! We dominated the first half but only scored once, although it looked like we had a good goal disallowed.  In the second half we suddenly find ourselves 3-1 down with a mountain to climb. We quickly pull one back with a screamer from Errat-Thompson and the momentum swings back our way. We get the equaliser but can't quite find the winner mainly due to some outstanding saves by Royston's keeper.
