Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

.
Stourbridge away is a really tough fixture. They won 2-0 at the NMG in October and looked a good side. The result of this Saturday’s game is likely to effect our final position in the table because if Stourbridge win they will go above us. Ilkeston and Stourbridge have drawn more games than any other teams so a draw looks very possible.
We are looking to extend our unbeaten run and Leroy is looking the extend his scoring sequence so we have everything to play for.
Stourbridge have picked more points on the road than they have at home.
Their home record is P17, W6, D6, L5, F27, A20,  Points 24
They were beaten on Monday night 3-2 by Coalville but before that they had only lost one of their previous nine matches.
Their best results include a 3-0 away win at Tamworth last month and 5-1 home win against Royston in January.

It was  made even more  special that night because we were the underdogs big time . Then we went one nil down but that super sub who came on ( sorry forgot the players name ) ripped their defence apart . Was a great night . Even their fans on their forum said "how can their fans totally out sing us "

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

.

I can remember drawing 3-3 at Stourbridge. I think we had a player sent off but we came from behind to snatch a draw with Calllum Chettle scoring a late equaliser, Earlier in the season Stourbridge won 4-3 at the NMG so over the two matches we scored six goals against them but only got one point.

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

The Stourbridge match is the first of three consecutive tough away matches and probably the toughest.
Sat 25 March    Stourbridge    away
Mon 27 March  Kings Langley   away
Sat 01 April      Alvechurch     away

If we’re to try and finish as high as possible, then it’s important that we keep the unbeaten run going. Right now, I would be happy with a draw, but all matches are different and good results sometimes happen when you least expect it. Also really hope super hero Leroy scores for the 8th consecutive match. If he can, he has a great chance of going on to score in ten consecutive matches which I believe would be a record for an Ilkeston player

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

The weather here is very changeable. One minute it's bright sunshine then there's black clouds.
Right now it's sunny but apparently the far end of the pitch is like a swamp so it could be a mud bath.

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

It's coming up to kickoff time. Stourbridge are in red. Ilkeston are in their purple and black kit.

It's a 3 sided pitch with a cricket pich on one side, not one of my favourite grounds and a poor view from the seats.

The teams are out

Ilkeston start by defending the bottom wet end of the ground.

We're off.........

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

Ball in the air a lot to start with.  Great run forward by Declan and he wins a corner.   Keeper gathers. Stour shot pushed out by Foulkes. That was the first serious attempt.        0-0     9 mins

Neither side creating anything so far. Head injury Declan  but he's ok. Another good ron Declan and he finds Campbell but Remaye's effort is wide. Ilkeston are trying to play, Stour are playing long ball.      0-0     16 mins

Ilkeston still edging it.  Foulkes caught out of his goal but Stour shot clears the bar. Let off for Ilkeston but apart from that Stour have not threatened.          0-0     35 mins

Re: Sat 25 March '23 : Stourbridge v Ilkeston : ko 3pm

I can't believe the Stourbridge reporter thinks they're unlucky to be behind. All the football has come from Ilkeston. Not many chances so far but we are worth our lead in my opinion. All that can change in the second half but so far so good.
