Re: Mon 27 March 2023 : Kings Langley v Ilkeston : Ko 7 45pm

Harborough are now 4-2 up at Coleshill and Arlott-John has got his second despite Football Web Pages saying he had been subbed. I can hear somebody from their media getting a bollocking!!

There's been a few hold ups for injuries .  Woakes replaces Ward.   Big appeal by Kings for a handball in Ilkeston box but its only a corner. Declan clears.       2-1     78 mins

If you have a moment watch this from Alnwick Town on Friday Night. The second goal in a great 2-0 win over Newcastle Blue Star in the League Cup!

Re: Mon 27 March 2023 : Kings Langley v Ilkeston : Ko 7 45pm

Mon 27th Mar 2023
Southern League Premier Central
Kings Langley  1  Ilkeston Town  2
Ilkeston increased their unbeaten run to ten matches but they were pushed hard by relegation threatened Kings Langley. A blockbuster by Jamie Ward and a trade mark finish by Leroy Lita plus some resolute defending saw us return from Hertfordshire with all three points.
Ilkeston started strongly and the opening 15 minutes saw them dominate possession but it was Kings Langley who should have taken the lead when a long ball forward by Andron Georgiou found Ethan Cain but he fired wide with just Harrison Foulkes to beat. They were made to regret the miss as Ilkeston responded with a bullet of a shot by Ward that found the top corner. Five minutes later several Ilkeston players appealed in unison for a penalty when the ball struck a Kings defender’s hand but nothing was given. With Ilkeston seemingly in control Kings struck back on 28 minutes. A free kick was blocked by the Ilkeston wall but the loose ball fell to Ethan Light whose cross was bundled in by Jorell Johnson. The goal lifted the hosts and they started to look more and more threatening on the counter attack but Ilkeston retook the lead just before half time through Leroy Lita’s close range finish.
Ilkeston started the second half confidently and Jack Thomas was soon testing Kings keeper Jack Berman. Kings were always looking to counter attack and by the hour mark they were starting to look more and more dangerous as both sides looked for the next all important goal. A strong charge forward by Ward ended with his shot being blocked and at the other end Kings appealed in vain for a penalty. The final ten minutes saw Kings in the ascendency and Ilkeston under real pressure with Foulkes pulling off two outstanding saves before the final whistle.
