Season tickets elsewhere ...

Basford United seem to be showing some initiative and offering good value on season tickets; perhaps Alfreton not so much ...

Basford …

2023/24 SEASON TICKET | BUFC CLUB SHOP

And they’ve also got a Club Membership scheme …

2023/24 CLUB MEMBERSHIP | BUFC CLUB SHOP

Not only have they got an ‘early bird’ offer, but you get a further discount if you bought a season ticket last season. And the concession age is 60 (please note Ilkeston!).

So, for example, if you buy your season ticket before June 30, and you are aged 60, and you bought a season ticket last season, you get a season ticket for this season for £65. No cup games, but 21 league games and any pre-season friendlies. £3 a game! If you’re under 60, you get a season ticket for £115 – less than £5.50 a game for Step 3 football.

Or if you want the Club Membership option, you get the season ticket plus:

  • A free home match replica shirt.
  • One free pint or pie and peas at every home league game (RRP £5.50).
  • One free printed matchday programme at every home league game (RRP £3).
  • 25% discount at the club shop and other selected food and drink purchases at every home league game.

Early bird, over 60, existing season ticket holder - £200.
Early bird, under 60, existing season ticket holder - £250.

Alfreton …

Conversely, season tickets seem to be expensive at Alfreton (a Step 2 league admittedly) …

They’ve got staged early bird prices – they want your cash now!

Purchase by June 9 - Under 65 £219 (£9.52 a game); Concessions (65 and over) £175 (£7.60 a game); 16-21 years £87 (£3.78 a game).
Purchase by June 30 - Under 65 £246 (£10.69 a game); Concessions (65 and over) £197 (£8.56 a game); 16-21 years £98 (£4.26 a game).
Purchase after July 1 - Under 65 £273 (£11.86 a game); Concessions (65 and over) £219 (£9.52 a game); 16-21 years £109 (£4.73 a game).
They’ve also got a 12 match ticket.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I thought about posting Basford's season ticket prices when I first saw it but I decided against it.
Basford are desperate for more support which is why they offer season tickets at very low prices. Their  poorly attended matches tend to lack any kind of atmosphere,
On the other hand, Ilkeston are traditionally a well supported club where supporters get good facilities and a much better match experience.
I see Basford as a carefully run club, who have probably reached their peak whereas Ilkeston have always had ambitions to play higher and give it a go.
