.
Tomorrow is our 2nd pre-season friendly when we face Maltby Main at the NMG.
There should be at least a couple more trialists hoping to impress Jamie Ward.
Come and see how the squad is taking shape. Kickoff is 7 45pm.

Fifteen minutes to kickoff
Unfortunately no Mark Duffy tonight to help me with player names.
Ian Deakin is in the Clocktower Stand tonight. Otherwise it doesn't look like as many watching as on Saturday.

Corner to Maltby. And they score from it 0-1 4 minutes
Ilkeston keeper appeared to be impeded but the goal stands.

Fenton has taken a knock and has to come off. Replaced by No 12. 0-1 15 mins

Good free kick move between Ward and Hallam almost brings an equaliser. Maltby worth their lead though. Corner for Ilkeston comes to nothing. Maltby attack looks more dangerous. 0-1 23 mins

Ilkeston's No 12 who replaced Fenton is playing well. Great burst of speed by Ward but the attack fizzles out. Ilkeston No 7 brought down on edge of area wide right. Keeper collects the cross. 0-1 33 mins

Hallam finds the net but its offside then Maltby counter attack nearly brings them a goal. Ilkeston's best attacks stem from Ward. Good save by Maltby keeper. It's very competitive. 0-1 41 mins

2nd goal for Maltby just before half time and we can't complain. Maltby have been the better side going forward.
Half time : Ilkeston 0 Maltby Main 2
Offline
Ilkeston have failed to test the Maltby keeper who as far as I can remember has only had to make one save. Maltby have looked a very decent side.

Looks like no changes made yet by Ilkeston. We're off again.....

Goal for Ilkeston. Really good build up down the right ends with a header into the net by Jack Tolley. 1-2 48 mins

Good start by Ilkeston with Jordy Hallam featuring in most moves. Good Ilkeston counter attack, much more promising going forward. Great cross by Leroy but no one can get a touch. 1-2 56 mins

The tide has turned and Ilkeston are now on top. Hallam Ward and a trialist replaced I think on 65 mins

Leroy feeds No 11 but his shot drifts wide. Great turn in the box by Lita but his shot is blocked. Long period of possession by Ilkeston but nothing from it. 1-2 76 mins
Offline
Brilliant skill by Wilder down the left. He cuts inside but his final shot is just too high. Keeper beats Lita to No 18 s through ball. Declan shot from distance pushed for a corner by keeper. 1-2 83 mins
Offline
Unlucky Lita, his clever lob is over the bar. Wilder's shot cannons off the keepers chest. Ilkeston are pushing for a leveller but its almost time. Maltby are hanging on.
Full time : Ilkeston 1 Maltby Main 2
A defeat but a much better workout than Saturday.

Man of the match for me was Henri Wilder. Superb performance especially in the second half.

Herni has put 2 solid performances in.
The problem is the other 10

We were second best in the first half but after half time we played much better.
It was a concern that Kieran Fenton picked up an injury but the No 12 who replaced him looked decent.
I thought Jordy Hallam played well and if he and Ward hadn't gone off I think we might have got an equaliser.
Well done to Maltby Main who treated the game like a cup final.
I think that Dec's younger brother is worth keeping. Yes he made few mistakes but he has potential. He was always in the game and wanting the ball.
