Before their match against Ilkeston, Radcliffe have what could be an exhausting match on Tuesday evening (10th October) against major promotion rivals Macclesfield.
With a bit of luck that fixture will take plenty out of Radcliffe and if Macclesfield were to win then Radcliffe’s early season confidence could take a knock. Whatever the result, the fact that Radcliffe have a tough match and we don’t must be to our advantage.

Radcliffe's performance tonight means they will be brimming in confidence when they play against us on Saturday but they may have picked up a few injury niggles.
I've just been looking at their results so far.
There is always lots of goals in their matches. Their 12 matches in the League, FA Cup and FA Trophy have produced 62 goals (that’s an average of over 5 goals per match) They have scored 43 and conceded 19.
They have scored at least two goals in every single game they've played so far. Can we be the first team to stop them scoring?

Radcliffe strengthened their grip on top spot in the Northern Premier League after coming from three goals down to beat Macclesfield 4-3 on a remarkable night at the Neuven Stadium.
John Rooney opened the scoring for the Silkmen four minutes into Tuesday's game, before a Neil Kengni double saw the visitors go 3-0 ahead before the half-hour mark as they looked to stretch their unbeaten run to nine matches in all competitions. However, free-scoring Radcliffe defied all odds to come back and record their ninth win in 10 league
Duxbury and Olly Thornley helped make it a 3-2 scoreline at half-time, then Josh Hancock scored a quickfire double midway through the second half to complete the turnaround.

Match Report - Radcliffe 4-3 Macclesfield.
Kieran Wilson. 11 Oct The Boro come back from three goals down to mark an incredible night at the Neuven Stadium.
After finding themselves three goals behind inside 30 minutes in the first half, Radcliffe managed to pick up the broken pieces to score four of their own in the remaining 60 minutes, gaining three points from nothing to remain top of the NPL Premier Division table.
Seven minutes into the game, Macclesfield had already gained a two-goal lead which put Radcliffe on the back foot in the early stages. Paul Dawson dispatched the first, meeting a clearance to fire a bullet into the bottom right corner from 30 yards out, beyond Mateusz Hewelt who couldn’t get anywhere near it. The away side’s second of the night came only moments later. Rick Smith’s long ball could only find Laurent Mendy, nodding into the path of Alex Curran who picked out Neil Kengni’s forward run before sliding into the far corner to double Macclesfield’s lead. Curran himself had an opportunity to gain a trio inside the 15-minute mark, but he couldn’t find the target with a powerful shot inside the box after breaking free from Luke Joyce’s misplaced pass, despite having time and space to gain composure. After 28 minutes, Mark Duffy’s side went three goals to the good inside the half-hour mark, all but ending the game as a competition, or so it seemed. Sam Heathcote nodded back across goal from Luke Duffy’s corner and Neil Kengni was free unmarked to tap home from close range, gaining a brace in the process. Despite the deficit, Radcliffe’s spirit didn’t diminish and the hosts significantly narrowed down the scoreline before the break, setting up an entertaining second half under the lights. Scott Duxbury scored his fourth of the campaign after driving from inside his own half, eventually meeting Josh Hancock’s lay off to convert from inside the six-yard area with nine of the 45 to play. Hancock was once again the provider on the stroke of half time, swinging a corner into the box which Olly Thornley nodded goalwards with venom, kissing the underside of the crossbar on its way in to give Radcliffe some hope going into the second period.
Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley’s men came out at half time with a vigorous approach, believing that the game wasn’t over yet as Jude Oyibo and Josh Hancock both saw efforts denied inside the opening ten minutes, the latter by a fine stop from Connor O’Keefe across to his left-hand side. With half an hour to play, Radcliffe were awarded a penalty as substitute Luke Murphy brought Josh Hancock to the ground, and the midfielder would go on to remain calm and composed by sliding into the opposite corner that the goalkeeper dived to level the terms on the night. Despite having a goal and two assists to his name so far, the best was yet to come from the former Altrincham player who put away the winning goal in style only moments later. From Mateusz Hewelt’s free kick into the other half, Anthony Dudley met the ball with a header which fell into space where Josh Hancock was waiting to pounce, and after bouncing twice on the turf, the 33-year-old hit a half-volley into the bottom left corner of the net from 30 yards out to send the Neuven Stadium into pandemonium. The introductions of Jamie Morgan, Brad Jackson and Luca Navarro looked to bring new energy to the side in order to maintain a hard-fought lead, with a big chance for Macclesfield’s Alex Hurst, another substitute, being squandered as he could only fire into the leg of the Radcliffe shot stopper from a narrow angle, just after Morgan entered the fray. Alex Curran dragged a low effort wide of the target after bypassing Lois Maynard in midfield to open a gap to shoot with eight minutes to play. Time started to run out for the visitors who had become frustrated across the pitch, gaining a number of yellow cards which didn’t help their troubles. Following an agonising five minutes of added time, the referee blew the full-time whistle to the cheers of the home faithful, ending a game that will live long in the memory for the Radcliffe fans in attendance, with three points on the board in an exhilarating 90 minutes of football.
We remain on home soil this Saturday, as we welcome Ilkeston Town to the Neuven Stadium in another tough test for the league leaders, you can buy your tickets online now via our website, with hospitality options also available.

Matchday is here and today's game is our toughest test to date. Radcliffe have 8 points more than us having played a game less and have won every game at the Neuven Stadium. In their six home matches including FA Cup they have score 22 goals.
But Radcliffe have been pushed close in their last three home games. In their last game they beat Macclesfield 4-3. In the game before that they beat Whitby 3-2 in the FA Cup and before that that beat Worksop 4-3.
Is today the day their 100% home record comes to an end? We have won three of our five away games and Ian Deakin and the team will be keen to bounce back after last Saturday’s home defeat in the FA Trophy.

Pity about the second Radcliffe goal. At 0-1 we were still in the game. Radcliffe are by far the best team we've played against though. We're lucky it's only 2-0. Apart from the Fenton header we've never looked like scoring.
