Another show of authority by the Northern Premier League
They once did this to Ilkeston , then fined us for not fulfilling the fixture. Many of us will remember this.
Will the same happen to Marske?

Yes I remember very well. When the chips are down this league know how to kick you in the teeth. Bunch over overage pricks.

Two weeks to save Marske United. An interview with Marske manager Graeme Lee on BBC Sounds (about 8 minutes long). Looks like GoFundMe/JustGiving pages to try and raise the £120,000 they need to get them through this season.

I think that it's a Northern Premier League rule that all clubs are financially sound. If they get an indication that a club is in difficulties they immediately suspend them from playing until they can prove otherwise.
If I remember correctly Ilkeston were suspended when some organisation complained to the league that they hadn't been paid.
This league is very quick to act if a club transgresses.
Ordinary fans are left with the impression that the NPL has little sympathy for clubs who appear to be struggling financially.

More information on the Marske United situation.
MARSKE UNITED FC
OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT REGARDING REFUND OF SHARES
As many of you will have seen, the club has recently been suspended by the League due to a challenge in changing the structure of the football club. The plan was to move to a Limited Company Structure supported by the shares issue along with the other benefits this would bring. The NPL and FA have advised the club that the process of correctly transferring ownership of Marske United and meeting all the requirements of the NPL and FA could take several weeks. During this time the club would remain suspended and be unable to play any fixtures. Until Marske United have met the requirements, and have gained approval from the NPL and FA, we are NOT allowed to issue shares in the Limited Company of Marske United Football Club Limited.
A decision was made on the 10th December 2023 by the members and committee of the previous controlling entity, that the club revert back to this entity and ask the NPL to lift our suspension after providing the required documentation. It is still the clubs intention to move to a Limited Company status in the summer when time is available for the correct procedure to be followed.
All those who have previously purchased shares will have ALL monies refunded in the near future. Please bear with us on this matter as there are several hundred purchasers to be contacted and monies refunded.
However, the club still need to raise substantial sums in a very short period of time in order to remain in the NPL for the remainder of the season and to this end, the club have set up a Just Giving page to try and save the club cos this link …Https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Paul-hart-5?utm_term=RNJH3DWZ6N
We hope that everyone will get behind the club which will then allow football to continue at Markse
It's looking very unlikely that our home fixture against Marske scheduled for December 16th will go ahead

It's over two weeks since Marske's suspension was lifted. When we played against Marske at home on 16th December, we were told by their officials that they had to raise £120,000 in two weeks.
The two weeks are up and they have raised £25,000 so far.
Have they been given more time?
As far as I know the NPL haven't issued any updates
I hope they survive and are allowed to continue playing.
Has anyone heard anything?

I hope this doesn't happen but if it does and Marske's results are expunged, I make it that Ilkeston will drop four places to 16th.
