Saturday we make our longest trip to Workington. It's a four hour journey and many of us have done it several times before.
It's a tough place to go and difficult to get a result but we.ve won there before . Who can forget that Playoff semi-final there when a goal by Kane Richards gave us victory when nobody gave us a chance.

Workington are currently 14th in the league table
Their record so far is: P22 W7 D7 L8 F42 A48 Pts28

They have only lost twice at home, 1-4 to Radcliffe and 2-3 to Gainsborough.
Their home record is: P10 W5 D3 L2 F24 A18 Pts18

Ilkeston’s away record is P11 W5 D1 L5 F14 A15 Pts16

Incredibly Workington have drawn their last six matches:
25 Nov Whitby (A) 1-1
28 Nov Marine (A) 4-4

12 Dec Worksop (H) 3-3

19 Dec. Macclesfield (H) 0-0

I think most Ilkeston supporters would settle for a continuation of that sequence.

So far Marske have raised a creditable £21,000 from their crowd funding appeal but it’s £99,000 short of the amount they need to stay in the League. They said they had to raise the money in two weeks and there must only be a few days left, so it’s not looking promising.
If Marske are ejected from the league, we lose six points which makes it more important that we bounce back from our midweek Cup defeat and get a result at Workington.
