Worksop looked a really good side when they beat us at the NMG back in September by 2-1. I think it was Ian Deakin’s first match in charge.

The Tigers are currently 3rd and are genuine promotion contenders
Their overall record is : P24, W13, D5, L6, F52, A26, Points 44

Worksop have an exceptional home record and have only been beaten once in the league at Sandy Lane conceding just four goals in 13 matches.
Their home record is : P13, W10, D2, L1, F,33 A4, Points 32

All the stats point to a routine home win but I have a feeling we might just tear up the form book and come back with a result.

2 things

1. It's a free hit on Saturday. If we lose we lose its not end of the world.

2. There big centre forward hung his boots up last week.

They do have the occasional off day like when Mickleover thrashed thrashed them 5-0 at Sandy Lane in the FA Trophy

There are some interesting matches tomorrow

Atherton v Matlock
Bradford v FC United
Gainsborough v Morpeth
Guiseley v Bamber Bridge
Lancaster v Hyde
Marine v Stafford
Warrington v Whitby
Worksop v Ilkeston

The teams near the bottom of the table need to start picking up points.
Atherton are at home to Matlock who have lacked consistency this season.
Bradford have lost their last four but will hope for a change of luck against FC United who have a poor away record.
Stafford have what looks like a tough away game at Marine but Marine have lost their last two.
After five losses on the bounce Gainsborough have won their last two and will be hoping to pick up another win against Morpeth

The other fixture involve teams near the top
2nd placed Warrington face Whitby who have the most away points in the league.
Guisley unexpectedly slipped up in their last match at Gainsborough and they face Bamber Bridge who are unbeaten in their last five.
Hyde are eight games unbeaten but that includes five draws. They travel to mid-table Lancaster who have a good home record.
3rd placed Worksop have only lost once at home and will want to preserve that record against Ilkeston who have won five of their 13 away games so far.

Worksop have an incredible home record over the last two seasons. They went the whole of last season unbeaten at home Played,19, Won 16, Drawn 3 Lost 0.
They were promoted as Champions from NPL East last season with 99 points from 38 matches and were only beaten once, They finished a massive 31 points ahead of 2nd placed Stockton.with the following record: P38, W31, D6, L1, F112, A25, Points 99.

On 21 Jan 23 Ian Deakin’s Long Eaton lost 7 -1 at Worksop but then went on a 12 games unbeaten run.
