Our next opponents Lancaster City are two places above us with two points more than us and have played a game less than us so it’s going to are another tough game
Their overall record is: P27. W12. D6. L9. F40. A37. Points 42
Their away record is: P12. W.5 D1. L6. F19. A17. Points 16
They have had some good results against higher placed teams. They have beaten Hyde, Ashton and Whitby and they’ve beaten Macclesfield twice.
Their five away wins have been against : Atherton , Hyde, Stafford , Macclesfield and Bradford.

Yes another tough game plus they will want revenge on us after their beating at their ground .

When the two teams met at the Giant Axe in September Ilkeston won by 4-0 despite having Tyrell Waite sent off in the first half. Jamie Walker scored a hat-trick and L’Varn Brandy scored the other goal.
This was the Ilkeston team:
1 Yates, 2 Anderson, 3 Parker, 4 Wilder, 5 Perch, 6 Cox, 7 Goodson, 8 Dixon, 9 Waite, 10 Eratt-Thompson, 11 Walker.
Bench: 12 Hanson, 14 Hallam, 15 Brandy, 16 Keane, 17 Starkie

I think this game will be tougher than some supporters think. Tony Mcaulay (a Hyde supporter) said Lancaster was the best team they have played against. They beat Hyde 3-0.
As said previously, Lancaster are 2 points above us having played a game less.
The optimism for an Ilkeston win comes from us being unbeaten in our last five matches but no results are guaranteed in this league.
Lancaster have won their last two matches against Bradford and Matlock.
An Ilkeston win would lift us above Lancaster to 10th. We could also go above Ashton who have a tough game against Guiseley.

I definitely know this will be a tough game mate if fact I take every game a tough one . This league is hard one that's for sure but I am enjoying how the club is going. Things are looking really better all the way through the club but that's only through the hard work everyone are putting in .

As someone who has to view the club from a distance it does look like it is in a strong position. On the field we are winning matches and off the field the club appears to be striving. On a cautious note I remember when Paul Hurst and Rob Scott got us promoted with David Holdsworth’s team back in the early 2010s the few of us working behind the scenes seemed to be the only people who suspected the clubs days were numbered. It was so difficult watching everyone celebrating promotion knowing that it could soon be all over. To be fair however I do think the club is in a much better, more sustainable position than when Check White was the owner and I am presuming we have not got six figure debts hanging over us like we did then.

There is definitely a feel good factor at the club just now due to the team playing well combined with the knowledge that we are living within our means. This is all due to Andy Nally and Ian Deakin.

Totally agree especially with Andy Nally more so mainly because he , and i have said this to most that Nally is a fan at the end of the day . Nally wont take no crap as in high wages which i back to the hilt , that for me is where the club went wrong in the past. I never wanted and never want high wages for players putting the club at risk , its ok for them coz when times are hard players sod off .......
The good feeling around the ground is great to hear and see plus Deaks is turning the playing side around which is a massive plus ...Loving it

As fans I still think we can do more

We need nothing but a win against Lancaster to keep our slim playoff dream alive.
The Promotion Position
Baring a dramatic collapse Radcliffe look certain to claim automatic promotion.
The playoff positions could taken by several clubs.
Marine are currently 2nd with 52 points from 29 matches but 7 of their remaining 11 matches are away.
Hyde are currently 3rd with 51 points from 28 matches and are very much in form having won their last five.
Warrington are 4th with 50 points from 28 matches but are experiencing a slump in form with only one win and five draws in their last 8 matches.
Worksop are occupying the final playoff spot with 47 points from 27 matches. They have lacked consistency and have failed to get back to back wins since November 14th.
Macclesfield are 6th with 47 points from 27 matches. With money behind them it would be a surprise if they didn’t make the top five.
Guiseley are 7th with 45 points from 26 matches. They beat runaway leaders Radcliffe away in their last match which shows that they have to be considered as real contenders.
Whitby are 8th with 42 points from 25 matches. 10 of their remaining 15 games are at home due to several postponements at their often waterlogged ground. Picking up wins from their arrears of fixtures is likely to be a problem.
It is possible for Lancaster, Ashton, Ilkeston and Matlock to make the playoffs but it's only a very slim chance and they would have to put together a dramatic run of victories.
The Relegation Situation
The candidates for relegation were four from these five; Atherton, Stafford, Marske, Bradford and Basford.
Marske’s drop out gave Basford a big helping hand. Basford are currently five points clear of Atherton but have played three games more so it’s possible that they could be caught.
My predictions:
Champions - Radcliffe
Playoff final - Hyde v Macclesfield
Playoff winners - Macclesfield
Relegated - Marske, Atherton, Bradford and Stafford.

I know what you are trying to say Alex. We have 1000 crowds but unless it has changed dramatically a proportionately low number of volunteer helpers. This was probably not helped by some of the people who were 'behind the scenes' being paid. I always was just a volunteer and i never wanted to be paid but I know of people who backed off offering their services due to some people being on the pay roll. I never begrudged anybody being paid as I knew they were not earning a 'fortune'. However it did not help getting rid of the 'them and us' syndrome. I do think the present regime have gone a long way to remedying this but they maybe need to reach out for volunteers because if we ever get promoted we will many more match day workers including volunteers. I am sure if you put your heads together you got find lots of roles that could do with more people helping out.

Ilkeston first to attack but the first corner is to City. . And another one. Yates collects. Lancaster find the net but it doesn't count. Brilliant run by Walker who finds Cursons but the shot is blocked by a defender. Now Meikle wins a corner. It's in. Parker or Cox got the glance. 1-0. 11 mins
i thought it was Cox but Zane announced it as Parker

Nice Ilkeston move involving Meikle but nothing from it in the end. Good run by Starkie but he then skies the ball over the bar. It's very entertaining but we're behind. 1-2. 44 mins
