Next Saturday is “Last Chance Saloon” day for Atherton Collieries when they host Basford. They look the most likely of the three relegation battlers to go down and even if they beat Basford they would still be 5 points adrift. If they lose to Basford the gap will be an impossible 11 points.
Stafford’s win at Bamber Bridge gives them a fighting chance of finishing above Basford and they could go level on points with Basford if they beat Workington this coming Saturday
Bradford are currently 2 points behind Basford and travel to Ilkeston.
These are the remaining matches of the 4 relegation battlers. Three of them will go down with already relegated Marske United.

Basford have a must win game against fellow strugglers Bradford PA as I cannot see them getting much from their last three games and Worksop Town is also a very tough fixture! FootballWebPages has predicted that they will survive and will win two and draw one of their remaining fixtures. I think Stafford Rangers has the easiest run in but a couple of poor results and their confidence may evaporate.

It could go down to the wire.
I've heard that the atmosphere at Basford is toxic just now.
If Ilkeston were to lose against Atherton or Bradford, can you imagine their reaction

You can't help feeling eventually relegation for Basford is inevitable whether it be this season or next. I hope I'm wrong but their fan base is very small and their owner has apparently not made himself popular over the last few seasons.

This Saturday’s fixtures could mix things up in the relegation zone.
Sat 30th March 2024
Atherton v Basford
Ilkeston v Bradford
Stafford v Workington
Basford 27 points (6 matches left)
Bradford 25 points (5 matches left)
Stafford 24 points (6 matches left)
Atherton 19 points. (7 matches left))
Basford are best placed. Personally I would like to see Stafford Rangers survive. If Basford fail to win at Atherton and Stafford beat Workington then I think Stafford have a chance.
