Dear Fans and All.
Sadly, with relegation now confirmed, we share your hurt and fully understand your feelings and frustrations. We would also like to thank you all for your support this season both home and away, and in particular the closing games, when you turned up in your numbers at Croft Park to cheer the team on with typical Spartan passion and commitment. We also extend our thanks and gratitude to all staff and volunteers for their much-valued efforts and commitment, this ensures that the club can viably function as well as enhancing the match day experience for all our supporters. Not least, we acknowledge the unwavering and invaluable support of all our Sponsors, not only for the financial input that the Club needs to survive, but their synergy with Club insupporting our initiatives and community involvement. With the change of ownership, we are looking forward to at a new and different era at the Club both on and off the pitch. We are now faced with an unexpected and significant challenge next season; I can assure you all that me and my team are fully committed to delivering a successful outcome next season. Going forward, as per our vision points, we confirm that we are committed to fully engage with the wider community, businesses, local organisations and of course you the supporters to make this Club a success.  Please support us on our journey, you are all vital to the Club and the key to the success and future of Blyth Spartans.

Morpeth Town is delighted to secure the signature of midfielder Jordan Hickey after his departure from Blyth Spartans. The tough-tackling central midfielder started out at Sunderland and then Hull City before making the switch to Blyth, after a temporary stint at Whitby Town. Looking to shake off the relegation suffered at the end of the last campaign, Hickey is happy to have switched to Craik Park with Highwaymen boss Craig Lynch the main selling point from his perspective.
“Lynchy was the main pull; speaking to him and his aims for the group and the season ahead, it just seems like a very positive time to come in and join Morpeth,” said the 24-year-old. “It was a no-brainer for me. After I spoke with Blyth, I knew I needed a fresh start elsewhere. I spoke with a couple of clubs but the conversations I had with Craig pretty much made my mind up on the spot. “I also know a couple of the lads here and I’m hoping a few come in to strengthen the group. In my opinion it’s a great move that I’m excited to get started. “I like to break up the play and read the game. I’d like to think I’ve got a good bit of composure to pick a forward pass…and the occasional goal!“Most importantly, I’m just a lad who likes to go out and enjoy playing football.”
Morpeth boss Lynch was pleased to get his second signing of the summer over the line, adding more steel in the heart of our midfield.“Jordan comes with a great pedigree, already playing 100 National League North games at 24,” he said. “He has a good grounding at both Sunderland and Hull and has shown his quality over the past few years at Blyth. “He’s a combative midfielder and you know you’re going to get 100% from him each week. “His qualities alongside Will (Dowling) and Danny (Barlow) will complement each other very well – I’m excited for the season ahead.”
