    Sat 31 Aug - Heanor v Ilkeston - FA Cup - 3pm

    .

    Still smarting after the dismal performance and defeat at Basford we have an opportunity to return to winning ways and to progress in the FA Cup against Step 5 Heanor Town.  It's a good while since we had a decent cup run so let's make this happen.

    I have a horrible feeling about this game. the lads were dead on their feet against basford and I think we was good for a point.

    Do we play TC because I don't want one of there pub players to fuck him up or play him go go 3-0 up after 10 minutes and take him off.

    It’s nearly 25 years since our historic win over Carlisle United. It would be nice to have a run in the FA Cup to give the young folk something for them to look back in 25 years time!

    Heanor Town play in the United Counties League, Premier North Division
    They beat Uttoxeter Town away  by 3-2  in the previous round of the FA Cup

    This is one of those matches that we're expected to win.  
    Hope we can get the job done without picking up more injuries. 

    I can remember when Ilkeston and Heanor were big rivals playing at the same level.  
    Unfortunately Heanor seem to have no ambitions to play higher these days and are content to play at Step 5. Maybe this is because their ground would need upgrading

    Dixon's free kick into the box is headed goalwards but Heanor keeper collects.  Curson's does well to create an opportunity but keeper has the ball. Nice work by Brandy down the right but keeper collects again.  Daniel shot blocked by a defender

    Curson's is held but Heanor No 3 gets away with it.  Chance for Heanor which Yates pushes for a corner. Then another Yates save following the corner.

    Heanor free kick is headed out for a corner. It's cleared.  Brandy tripped 5yds outside area. Dixon's free kick beats every one and goes out.  Not much quality so far.

    Ilkeston have created very little. The Heanor keeper hasn't been tested yet.  Daniel sends Brandy away but the cross goes behind.

    Cursons wins the ball in a challenge with Heanor keeper but he's penalised.  corner to Heanor Yates punches clear. Cursons gets a shot in from a narrow angle but keeper is there.       1-0.      43 mins

    Dixon goes past a couple of challenges but he's been penalised for some reason.  Great ball from Cursons to Brandy  but Brandy blazes wide.  Great header from Heanor No 10 but Yates tips it over. Fantastic save.

    15 minutes left. we need another goal.  Ilkeston header is just wide. Not much threat from Heanor. Then a chance for Heanor and its Yates to the rescue. Then a chance for Heanor No 4 but he skies it.        1-0.    85 mins
