Walsall Wood FC resigns from the league with immediate effect
It is with deep regret that Walsall Wood FC announces its resignation from the NPL Midlands Division, effective immediately. Despite the unwavering dedication and hard work of our volunteers, we have reached a point where we are unable to sustain the first team due to insufficient funds and a lack of communication from Justin Hodgin over the past four weeks.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the league committee members for their support and understanding during these challenging times. We want to emphasise that our grassroots section, which includes both boys' and girls' teams competing across several leagues (SGLFL, MJPL, JPL, MSJYL, and WJYL), remains strong and vibrant. This section will now take control of the club's operations, for the foreseeable future, working closely with our dedicated volunteers to ensure a viable Men's first team structure returns to Walsall Wood FC.

It seems to be getting harder for non league teams to keep going. Now even well established clubs are finding it impossible to meet the costs of competing at our level. Loughborough Dynamo and Coalville called it a day before the season started. Clubs like Bamber Bridge are on the brink. Football Clubs do have to live within their means but if that means you're not getting results then people won't come to watch and that makes finances worse as nobody wants to watch a struggling side. Hence clubs take the risk of paying higher wages for decent players in the hope that it brings success and bigger crowds. But no club can survive on gates alone. It seems that every non-league club needs a benefactor who is prepared to soak up the shortfalls.
Non-League football is brilliant for your well-being. Supporters feel part of the club. It's a feeling of belonging and being appreciated. It's one big happy family where you can talk to players, managers, owners and fellow supporters. Why not give a try to being a volunteer and be part of the team. All non-league clubs need volunteers to survive.
Clubs have to attract more fans., Support your local club and go to every home game. Talk to other supporters and get involved. You won't regret it because there are some great people at ITFC.

This one of the main reasons i dont want promotion mainly because of the costs it would cripple us jus as we are getting our heads above water . Look at Radcliffe and Marine they are joint bottom in the league and both have a better budget than we could ever get .....Would i want promotion at any time ??? Yes of course but NOT if it put us in trouble ...
