When your team is on a winning run, the games can't come round quick enough.
Next Saturday is our favourite away game. Can't wait for this one,
Looking forward to some sea air, fish and chips and a 5th win on the bounce.
We don't normally get a result at Whitby but this time we have a better chance.

If I am right we have never won a league game at Whitby. We have taken the odd point.
This is the 1st fixture I look for. I'll be there on the Friday. Can't wait.
Any news on why Janie Walker wasn't in the squad last Saturday?

Whitby's Home record: P11, W3, D3, L5, F14, A13, Points 12
Whitby started the season poorly. They failed to win any of their first seven home league games.
They lost to Bamber Bridge, Macclesfield, Guiseley and Ashton and drew with FC United, Matlock and Leek.
Since then, they have won 3 of their last 4 home matches:
Sat 02 Nov. Prescot Cables won 2 - 1
Tue 05 Nov. Gainsborough lost 0 - 2
Sat 16 Nov. Mickleover won 4 - 1
Sat 30 Nov. Lancaster City won 3 - 0

Jamie Walker missed the Worksop match because of an injury.
Last season Whitby beat us 3-0 at the Turnbull on New Years Day
Before that there was a six year gap when we didn’t meet
The time before that when we played at Whitby was 2016-17 when we lost 2-1
In season 2015-16 we lost 4-2 at Whitby
The last time we won at Whitby was 10 years ago on 15 Nov 2014 in the 2014-15 season. On that day we won 3-1 with goals by Joe Maguire and Ash Hunter (2) and went on to reach the playoffs. Ilkeston had the best away record in the league that season (Played 23, Won12 , Drawn 6 , Lost 5)

I can remember that 1-3 win . Was it ASH Hunters first game or had he been with a few games . He was like a terrier biting at the opponents ankle . He was a good replacement fur Che Adams ....

NPL Review of games this weekend
As we head further into the Christmas period, all 22 teams are in action this weekend, in what is sure to be an exciting round of fixtures in the Northern Premier League’s top division.
A battle between two sides currently in the top five headlines this weekend, as Guiseley make the trip to the Project Solar Stadium to face Hyde United. Guiseley went 10 games unbeaten with a draw against Leek Town in midweek and will be aiming to put a 10-point barrier between themselves and Nicky Spooner’s side with a win. Hyde also come into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with Leek - a point which extended their unbeaten streak to six.
League leaders Macclesfield are at home this weekend, as they welcome play-off chasing Stockton Town to the Leasing.com Stadium. Stockton are aiming to halt a run of three defeats in their last four in the league, whereas Macclesfield will look to make it back-to-back league wins after leaving it late to triumph at Workington a fortnight ago.
Leek Town will be looking to build on successive draws when they face third-placed Worksop Town. Worksop came out on top in a dominant 4-0 win when the two met at Harrison Park in September. A similar result this time around would stretch Leek’s winless run to nine league games, with the Blues entering the weekend second-bottom of the division.
Ilkeston Town, who currently occupy a place in the play-offs, travel to the Yorkshire Coast to face Whitby Town. The Robins are currently on a three-game winning run, which includes an impressive home win over Worksop last weekend. Ian Deakin’s side will be hoping for more of the same from his players, who beat the Seasiders 5-1 earlier in the season.
Back towards the foot of the table, Blyth Spartans will go in search of their first win since mid-September when they welcome Prescot Cables to Croft Park. Prescot themselves are without a win in five, and they will be hoping to get back on track against a struggling Blyth side.
Meanwhile, Warrington Rylands will look to climb out of the bottom four when they host Workington. The same is also true of FC United of Manchester, after they dropped into the bottom four after Gainsborough Trinity’s victory in midweek. Mark Beesley’s side are on their travels this time around, with FC United heading to Greenwich Avenue to take on Basford United.
Elsewhere, Gainsborough will be searching for a fourth league win in a row when they take on Lancaster City. The Holy Blues still have a plethora of games in hand due to their impressive cup runs, and can climb as high as 13th with another win this weekend.
In the weekend’s other action, Matlock Town are at home, as Ryan Cresswell’s side take on Mickleover. Mickleover came out on top when the two sides met in September, but both sides have been on different trajectories in the short time since. Matlock, the league’s fifth-best side over the past 10 games, will be hoping to inflict an eighth defeat in nine league games on Mickleover.
And finally, Hebburn Town travel to Bamber Bridge this weekend. A run of one win in five has seen Hebburn drop down to eighth in the league. They’ll be hoping to get back on track and secure a league double over Brig, after winning 5-1 at Hebburn Sports Ground in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

MATCH DAY 14th December 2024 Whitby Town v Ilkeston Town
Whitby’s recent home form is good with only one defeat in their last six league matches. (Won 3, drawn 2, lost 1)
Ilkeston’s last six away games in the league have produced 3 wins and 3 defeats. We won at Leek and Morpeth then lost three on the bounce at Workington, Prescot and Lancaster. We won our last away game at Warrington Rylands.
Both teams will think they can win this match. Whitby will want to avenge their 5-1 defeat at the NMG in September and Ilkeston will want to consolidate their position in the play off places.
Whitby have not had a draw in their last seven league matches: last draw 19 Oct. Leek (H) 0-0
Ilkeston have not had a draw in their last eight league matches: last draw 19 Oct. Guiseley (H) 1-1

Hope the second half is better than the first. Whitby had the better opportunities and ought to be ahead. Stevens had a good first half but just before half time he was signalling to the bench that he had an injury.

Wafula has replaced Stevens. Cursons hauled down in the area but nothing given. Whiby shot hits one of their own players and he needs the physio. 0-0. 52 mins

Whiby forward misses a sitter but the ball came to him very quickly. Tom Marshall gets a yellow. What looked like a good Ilkeston counter fizzles out. 0-0. 57 mins

Great catch by Bland from Wafula's cross. Then Whitby break with Thomas carrying the ball a long way before crossing Brandy replaced by Meikle. on the hour. 0-0. 60 mins
