Ian Deakin’s first league match in charge of Ilkeston was on 9th September 2023 against Worksop Town which ended in a 2-1 defeat.  Between then and now he set about improving the team and results. When Ian joined Ilkeston they were 14th with 6 points after 5 matches and had lost 3-0 to Mickleover in the FA Cup which was previous manager, Gary Hayward’s final match in charge.One season later and Ilkeston are 4th with 39 points from 23 matches.
