This is a crucial match in the race for the playoffs. Ilkeston are level on points with Stockton either side of the final playoff spot. Ilkeston have a game in hand so a win would put distance between us and them. If Stockton were to win we would have a chance to catch them up with our game in hand.
On the way to Guiseley on Saturday, by chance we met and spoke with the Stockton officials at Rotherham Sevices on the M1. They were on their way to play Mickleover. They were saying that their target at the start of the season, after being promoted the season before, was to avoid being relegated. They have done much better than that already. They also said that they would have a problem if they won promotion this season because their ground is not up to standard.

At last we get to play against Stockton after two postponements earlier in the season.
Stockton were promoted to Step 3 from the NPL West via the playoffs last season. They finished just one point behind champions Hebburn.
This season their record is: P31, W15, D4, L12, F51, A40, Pts 49
Their away record is decent : P15, W 6, D2, L 7, F24, A22, Pts 20
They have lost their last 2 games against Mickleover and Rylands but before that they won 3 on the bounce against Blyth, Workington and Leek.
Stockton have been in the top half of the league all season after making a good start and winning their first 3 matches.
They reached the FA Trophy 4th round before losing on penalties to Rochdale
They reached the 3rd qualifying round of the FA Cup before losing to Chester after a replay
It's going to be another tough game for sure.
Don't miss this important game under the NMG floodlights this coming Tuesday night (18th Feb kickoff 7.45pm)

We really need 6 points from the final two February matches, Stockton at home and Blyth away before we go into the final ten matches in March and April.
There will be highs and lows in the final run in to decide who makes the playoffs but we keep believing.
Top spot and bottom spot appear tbe decided but every other team has something to play for. What a season with playoff and relegation issues probably going to the wire.

Tuesday is a big night for five teams around the playoffs with Ilkeston playing against Stockton and Ashton, Rylands and Hebburn also playing
Fixtures Tue 18th Feb
Ilkeston v Stockton
Matlock v Ashton
Prescot v Bamber
W Rylands v Leek
Whitby v Hebburn
This could be a great night for Ilkeston if we can get 3 points against Stockton.
We would then like Matlock to do us a big favour by taking points off Ashton.
Can’t see Rylands dropping points against Leek but Hebburn might at Whitby.
On the other hand it could all go wrong. We just need to make sure we win our match.

Preview of the match from Stockton Town FC website
Stockton Town return to Derbyshire just days after suffering a bitterly disappointing loss at strugglers Mickleover. By Michael Dunwell’s own admission, the Anchors were severely below par as they went down 1-0 through Owen Gallacher’s first half own goal. There was a slight improvement in the second half but Stockton were unable to conjure up anything to really trouble the home side.
THE OPPOSITION
Ilkeston Town currently occupy the final Play-Off having taken it from Stockton on Saturday thanks to their score draw at Guiseley. Colin Daniel had given them the lead but Jordan Thewlis’ penalty secured a point for the home side. They are managed by Ian Deakin, who holds previous against Stockton Town having navigated past the Anchors in the NPL East Play-Off final as Long Eaton United boss. Jamie Walker, who netted the winning penalty for Long Eaton, is also back facing the Anchors having joined Deakin at Ilkeston. The Long Eaton connection does not stop there. Captain Tom Marshall and Left-Back Sam Parker both featured in the Play-Off final almost two years ago. Ilkeston are adjusting to life after Tom Cursons. Another former Long Eaton man, Cursons had a tremendous start to the campaign as he hit 25 goals which earned him a move to EFL side Harrogate Town. Since his departure they exited the Derbyshire Senior Cup with defeat against Alfreton, and have also suffered away defeats at Ashton United and Hyde. They did beat Workington however, with striker Alex Hardwick bagging his first for the club.
