I was told by Alfreton's secretary that competing at Step 2 in the National League North is very costly. Travel costs are so much more than in the Northern Premier League and you're competing against clubs with greater financial backing. Macclesfield will be okay but for teams similar to us it would probably be a survival battle as Radcliffe and Marine have found out.  I would say that we would need four figure gates to stand a chance of competing in that league which at present we haven't got.

 Thats one of the main reasons i would rather stay in this league like ya Matlocks etc ... Of course i would love promotion who wouldnt but not at a massive cost ......
