Declan Howe

Declan has Recently Moved to Scunthorpe United, after a Good Couple of Seasons at Gainsborough Trinity. Did Ilkeston give him a Consistent Run in the Team? I don't seem to Remember him having lots of Game Time?

Re: Declan Howe

From memory I don’t think he did, didn’t seem to be anything special at our place.

Re: Declan Howe

.
Declan Howe's first game for Ilkeston was Sat 26 Aug 2023 in the 4-1 defeat at Bradford Park Avenue.
He then played two days later on Bank Holiday Monday in the 4-2 home defeat against Whitby
The following Saturday he came on as a second half sub in the 3-0 defeat at Mickleover in the FA Cup
He then made another substitute appearance in a 2-1 home defeat against Worksop on Sep 9th
On Sep 16th he was an unused sub in the 1-0 win at Basford

So Declan had only a short spell of playing at Ilkeston and unfortunately the four games he played in were all defeats.

Re: Declan Howe

Yes he did not stay long at Ilkeston but has not stopped scoring since! When I used to update the scores every time Gainsborough scored my spell checker automatically corrected what ever I typed to Howe. We certainly missed out with Declan. Can  you think of anybody else who slipped through the net? I used to think Kevin Bastos was one example of a player who we did not see the best of!

Re: Declan Howe

If we are going back in time what about Leon McSweeney left us to go to college at Loughborough then ended up at Leyton Orient!

Re: Declan Howe

Just remembered Steve Buckley played as a young winger at Ilkeston and off loaded to Burton Albion then via Luton to Derby where he played a million games and became a legend!
